Brevyn Ross Sets GRC Meet Record in 300 Hurdles as Tiger Teams Finish High

Brevyn Ross set a personal best and broke a GRC meet record last Monday. Both Tiger teams finished high and there were a lot of personal bests set at the meet.

On the girls side, Stanberry won with 145 team points. Braymer had 90, Maysville 78, Albany 73.5, Worth County 66, South Harrison 65.5, King City 65, Gallatin 53, Polo 46, and Princeton 15.

On the boys side, South Harrison ran away with 122.5 points, followed by Stanberry with 80.5.
Worth County had 79, Polo 76, Princeton 73, Braymer 66, Maysville 61, King City 49, Gallatin 48, and Albany 47. There was a lot of parity on both sides.

Ross knocked off .46 of a second off his 300 Hurdles time and won with a time of 40.49. Alex McQuinn was second with a time of 42.80. They beat out everyone else by four seconds or more.

On the girls side, Payton Adwell was fifth in the 100 with a time of 13.99. Rikky Hunt was seventh with a time of 14.30. Adwell then finished third in the 200 with a time of 28.57.

Victoria Moore placed for the first time all year, knocking almost seven seconds off her time in the 800 and finishing with a time of 2:56.62.

The 4x100 team of Jessi Badell, Abbi Caddenhead, Grace McElvain, and Kennedy Galanakis was sixth with a time of 59.82.

The 4x200 team of Payton Adwell, Rikky Hunt, Liz Lyle, and Grace McElvain was third with a time of 1:57.76.

The 4x400 team of Payton Adwell, Rikky Hunt, Liz Lyle, and Grace McElvain was fifth with a time of 4:34.62, taking two seconds off their previous best time.

Liz Lyle was second in the High Jump with a leap of 4’8”. Rachael Gardner was fourth with a jump of 4’6”, breaking her personal best by four inches.

The girls placed two in the pole vault as Tess Andrews was second, matching a personal best of 7’6”. Jessi Badell finished third with a vault of 7 feet.

Liz Lyle broke her personal best in the Long Jump by over a foot and finished second with a leap of 15’3”.

Kennedy Galanakis was fifth in the Discus with a throw of 85’4”.

Brevyn Ross won the 200 with a time of 23.91, getting his second win of the afternoon. He edged out Parker Smith (Polo), who had a time of 24.09.

Jayden Jilek was sixth in the 400 with a time of 56.02.

In a tight three way race in the 100 Hurdles, Seth Cline (Albany) beat out Brevyn Ross, getting a time of 16.02 to Ross’ 16.35. Ross edged out another rival, Preston Aye (Stanberry), who placed third with a time of 16.50. Bryant McCord was fourth with a time of 18.35.

The 4x100 team of Jayden Jilek, Lucas Caddenhead, Caleb Parman, and Nate Pointer was sixth with a time of 48.79.

The 4x200 team of Ben Badell, John Mancuso, Jayden Jilek, and Brevyn Ross was seventh with a time of 1:43.23.

The 4x400 team of Jayden Jilek, Ben Badell, Lucas Caddenhead, and Rune Zinn-Scheiffele was fourth with a time of 3:47.38, knocking over five seconds off their previous best time.

The 4x800 team of Jeremy Wimer, Jacob Wimer, Lucas Caddenhead, and Montana Lykins was eighth with a time of 10:39.09.

The Tigers placed two in the High Jump. Ben Badell won with a vault of 5’10”. Bryant McCord was seventh with a height of 5’4”. Ben Badell picked up another medal in the Pole Vault, where he got a personal best and fourth place finish with a vault of 10 feet. Will Engel was sixth with a vault of 9 feet, matching a personal best.

Caleb Parman was fourth in the Long Jump with a leap of 17’11¾”. Parman picked up another medal in the Triple Jump with a second place finish and a leap of 37’7½”.
