Northeast Nodaway Clinches Threepeat in Conference with 5-2 Victory

Northeast Nodaway clinched a threepeat in the Northwest Missouri Baseball Conference with its 5-2 win over North Nodaway Monday. North Nodaway clawed back from a 2-0 deficit by the fifth inning, but Northeast never lost their composure and scored three in the sixth. Jill Spire started the winning rally with a two out rally as she roped a single into left down the line. Max Giesken doubled to the wall in left center field and Spencer Weir reached on a throwing error to score them both. Rowdy West then hit a pop fly single when the stiff wind carried his ball just past Peyton Coleman’s glove to score Weir.

Max Giesken took the win for Northeast in relief. He got out of a jam in the sixth by striking out Garrett Torres and then struck out the side in the seventh to shut the door.
