Opal Francis Hensley Hunt was born on January 7, 1927, to Walter Hensley and Velma Vollnogel Hensley, on a farm in rural Harrison County near Hatfield, Missouri, and departed this life on May 30, 2012.
Opal was united in marriage to Jubal Ralph Hunt on October 10, 1942. To this union, nine children were born.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-eight years, Jubal; two sons: James Ralph and Dennis Owen; and grandson, Tadd Bainum.
She is survived by her sister, Ella Jean Fletchall of Marina, California; sister-in-law: Elizabeth Hunt of Grant City; children: Carol Ann Kerwin and husband, James, of Grant City; Roberta (Bobbi Jo) Bainum and husband, Michael, of Redding, Iowa, John Hunt and wife, Joyce, of Coralville, Iowa, Daniel Hunt of Grant City, Timothy Hunt and wife, Cynthia, of New Hampton, Missouri, Lisa Hargrave and husband, John, of Grant City, Lena Hunt of Grant City; thirty-two grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral Services were held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City. Pastor Ron Christian officiated. Interment was in the Redding, Iowa Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City.
