The Citizen of the Year Award, a Ranch Rodeo, Kanesville Boys Bluegrass, an antique tractor pull, Ed Jacobs and Climax Country, and many other activities will be held as Sheridan will mark its 125th anniversary from June 22nd to 24th.
On Friday the 22nd at 5:30, there will be the Little Mr. & Miss Defiance show. For more information, contact Miranda Lyle at 799-2258. At 5:45 will be the Citizen of the Year presentation, followed by the Kiddie Parade at 6:00. For more information on that, people can contact Miranda Lyle. Also at 6, the Sheridan CBC will have a supper at the schoolhouse.
At 7:00 on Friday, there will be a Horseback Poker Run, Registration starts at 6:30. For more information, contact Mary Jo Riley at 799-2259. Following the Poker Run, there will be a dance at Snakebite starting at 9.
On June 23rd, the events will start off with a breakfast sponsored by the Sheridan Shamrocks 4-H at Sheridan Grocery & Cafe from 7-9. At 10:30 a.m., there will be a Parade and Flag Raising. Registration will be from 9-9:45; for more information, people can contact Treva Smyser at 799-2345. Following the Parade, there will be a performance by the Mic-O-Say Dancers and a Horseback Tribute to America.
From 11-1, there will be a Boy Scout BBQ. At 12, the Volleyball Tournament will start along with the Baby Show and the Pedal Pull. For more information on the Volleyball Tournament, people can contact Sharon Hart at 799-2905.
At 1, the Wings of Love Bird Show will start. At 1:30, a Texas Hold’em tournament will start at the Schoolhouse. For more information, people can contact Mike Rowe at 799-2945. At 2, the Shimmy & Shake Dance Club will perform.
At 2:30, there will be an Antique Tractor Cruise, along with an ice cream social and kids games. At 3, the 180 races will start at the Schoolhouse; registration starts at 2. For more information, contact Clayton Troutwine at 660-254-2943. At 3, the Worth County Community Band will perform. At 3:30 will be the Kids Pet Show.
From 4-6:30, Ed Jacobs and Climax Country Western Band will perform. At 4:30, there will be an Antique Tractor Pull. For more information, contact Tyler Paxson at 660-562-4497. Also at 4:30, there will be a scavenger hunt. At 7, the Kanesville Boys Bluegrass will perform, sponsored by the Sheridan Christian Church. At 9, there will be another dance at Snakebite.
There will also be a Box Auction on Saturday and the Life-Net Helicopter will be landing in the afternoon.
