Two Injured Near Quitman
Two people were injured in a two-car accident two miles north of Quitman. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 1992 Toyota Pickup driven by Timothy Cherry, 47, of Fairfax was northbound on Route 113 and a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Catherine Gast, 19, of Skidmore was westbound on 210th Street. Gast failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of Cherry. The Pickup came to rest in the roadway, blocking both lanes. The Sunfire came to rest on the north side of 210th street west of 113. Cherry received moderate injuries while Gast received minor injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
