Donald Dale Andrews went to be with the Lord January 22, 2011 after battling a long illness.
He was born May 18, 1947, the only child of Clarence Dale Andrews and Vera Churchill Andrews.
He attended grade and high school at Grant City, graduating in 1965. He later graduated from Northwest Missouri State with a Bachelor’s Degree, later receiving his Masters in Public Administration in Texas.
He was Chief of Police in Electra, TX, Probation and Parole Officer in Chillicothe, and served in law enforcement in Albany and Tulsa, OK. He retired from the Oklahoma State Fire Marshal’s Office in Tulsa and returned to his century farm near Grant City.
He married Cynthia Forrest on June 6, 1996 at Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his parents and Brenda Andrews. He is survived by loving wife Cynthia, son Nathan Andrews, daughter Megan Walters and husband Beryk, son Hunter Forrest and wife Jamie, and daughter Amber Young. He is also survived by grandsons Trey and Tucker Forrest, Brevin Walters, granddaughters Jaylee and Maycee Young, special cousin Bill Gaddis and wife Karen, their children Blaine Gaddis and wife Michelle and Clayton Gaddis and wife Blaire.
He will be missed by a multitude of family and friends.
Funeral services were held at the Andrews Funeral Home in Grant City on Tuesday, January 25th at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Sue Noakes officiated. Interment was in the Grant City Cemetery.
