Kaye Phillip Havner of Grant City, Missouri will celebrate his 80th birthday with family and friends on Saturday, January 15, 2011. The event will be held at the United Methodist Church in Grant City from 2 to 4 pm. The church is located at 15 East Fourth Street. Mr. Havner was born on January 16, 1931 to Henry Parman Havner and Dorris Oehler Havner, both of whom are deceased. Mr. Havner grew up on a farm in Denver, Missouri and has spent the majority of his adult life in Grant City, Missouri.
Mr. Havner married Betty Berneice Bowlin on October 15, 1950. The couple had two children, Dr. Charles E. Havner of Linwood, Kansas and Mrs. Melody Havner Allen of Littleton, Colorado. Mrs. Betty Havner passed away on January 1, 1996.
Mr. Havner married Evanell Lovell Bunker on March 28, 1998. The couple currently reside in Grant City, Missouri.
During his lifetime, Mr. Havner served as a U.S. Navy CB and he owned and managed several family owned businesses including a small farm, a laundromat and a John Deere dealership. He also served as Worth County Presiding Commissioner, Chairman of the Worth County Convalescent Center Board of Directors, Worth County United Methodist Parish Treasurer and Harley Owners Group Director of Chariton, Iowa chapter.
