12th District State Senator Brad Lager was appointed today as the chairman of the Senate Commerce, Consumer Protection, Energy and Environment Committee for the 96th General Assembly. Sen. Lager was appointed as chairman by Senate President Pro Tem Rob Mayer of the 25th District.
The nine-member committee is responsible for overseeing legislation dealing with regulatory matters, consumer protection, food and drug safety, environmental health, interstate commerce and energy sources. Sen. Lager previously served as vice-chair of the committee during the 94th General Assembly, chair of the committee during the 95th General Assembly, and was honored to be appointed chairman of the committee for the 96th General Assembly.

In addition to serving as chairman of the Senate Commerce, Consumer Protection, Energy and Environment Committee, Sen. Lager has been named to the Government Accountability Committee; Gubernatorial Appointments Committee; Rules, Joint Rules, Resolutions and Ethics Committee; and the Ways and Means and Fiscal Oversight Committee.
