Two St. Joseph area bridges are scheduled to close next week for yearly maintenance. Crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to close the Route AC bridge over U.S. Route 36 and portions of the Interstate 229 Double-Decker Bridge to complete concrete replacements on the driving surface of the bridges.
Route AC Bridge: 8:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 13, through 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14.
I-229 Double-Decker Bridge: 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, through 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.
Northbound left passing lane closed from U.S. Route 36 to Highland Avenue.
Southbound closed from Highland Avenue to U.S. Route 36 due to northbound maintenance.
Each bridge must remain closed to overnight to allow the concrete to cure. Motorist will need to seek an alternate route during the closures.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
