Jim Larson Honored for 40 Years of Service at Hy-Vee

Jim Larson was recently honored by Hy-Vee for 40 years of service to the company. He served most of his time at Grant City, with a few years at Bedford as well. He first started working at the Grant City Hy-Vee in January 1978, when it was still on the Square.

Larson worked at Hy-Vee until 2001, when he worked in the hog farm industry for six years and then at Energizer in Maryville for six years. When Energizer closed in 2013, Connie Maudlin was about to retire at Grant City Hy-Vee, so Larson got her job. He has been working at Grant City Hy-Vee for the last ten years.

Jim has two grandchildren through his son, Carlin. He is also the Voice of the Tigers, being the PA announcer at Worth County football games for over 30 years. He says the way to stay around for that long was to enjoy your job and enjoy what you’re doing.
