Clara Elizabeth “Betty” (Parker) Byrns was born December 17, 1931 in Redding, Iowa to Sam and Sylvia Parker. Betty graduated from Redding High School in Redding, Iowa. Betty was united in marriage to Wilbur Dean Byrns on September 29, 1949 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. To this union 2 children were born, Robert and William Byrns. She sold Avon for 50 years. Betty was a member of the Grant City Baptist Church.
Betty passed away on May 21, 2026 at Orilla’s Way in Grant City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents Sam and Sylvia Hunt, brother John Lawrence Parker and; husband Wilbur Byrns. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Bob Byrns of Kansas City, Missouri and Bill (Joan) Byrns of Allerton, Iowa; four grandchildren Matt (Karen) Byrns, Libby Byrns, Adele (Brennen) Javorsky and Olivia Byrns; and three great-grandchildren Xander, Lexi and Leeland.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home in Grant City, Missouri. Interment will be at the Athelstan Cemetery in Athelstan, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Grant City Baptist Church or the Grant City Fire Department.
