Courthouse News for June 7th, 2023

On May 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Ashley Bland (31) of Versailles (MO) alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On May 31st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Nicholas Perkins (20) of Ridgeway in Harrison County on a charge of Property Damage.

On May 31st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that David Schmitz (60) of Ravenwood was backing up on an ATV in a field when he struck a rut and the ATV overturned, rolling on top of Schmitz. He was seriously injured and taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.

On June 1st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Ashley Stafford (36) of Maryville alleging 2 counts Violation of a Protection Order. 

On June 1st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Laura Kauzlarich (56) of Omaha alleging DWI.

On June 1st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Prudhvi Damineni (26) of Maryville alleging DWI and Failure to Display Two Headlights.

On June 1st, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against David Alexander (50) of St. Joseph alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On June 2nd, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Conner Weeks (18) of Maryville alleging Stealing (Felony) and Property Damage (Felony). Bond was set at $500, cash only.

On June 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Brett Emig (19) of Eagleville in Harrison County on a charge of DWI.

On June 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jonathon Wallace (29) of Independence in Harrison County on charges of Speeding, No Valid License, a Johnson County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Non-Support), and a Lee’s Summit Warrant (Violation of Protection Order). 

On June 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2012 Mazda driven by Semaj Foster (29) of Indianola (IA) was northbound on I-35 when he exited at the 99 mile marker exit ramp five miles west of Ridgeway. The vehicle continued northbound off the roadway and struck an embankment. Foster and a passenger, Tamashya Foster (50) of Fulton (MO), received moderate injuries and were taken to Harrison County Hospital. Subsequently, the Patrol made two arrests. The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Semaj Foster (29) of Indianola (IA) on three counts Trafficking Drugs (Felony), Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felony), Leaving the Scene (Felony), Resisting Arrest (Felony), No Plates, Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle, Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident), Failure to Stop, Failure to Signal, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Speeding, and No Valid License. The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Tamashya Foster (50) of Fulton (MO) on charges of Drug Trafficking (Felony), Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felony), Delivery of Controlled Substance (Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Felony). On June 4th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against both alleging Drug Trafficking (felony). Bond for Semaj Foster was set at $150,000 cash only, while bond for Tamashya Foster was set at $100,000 cash only.

On June 4th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department reported there was a stray horse on 150th street three miles east of Highway 25. The owner was subsequently located.

On June 6th, the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department recognized deputies Austin Hann and Andrew Riley for their actions in saving the life of someone who was contemplating suicide. If you or someone you know is considering suicide, call 988. 

On June 6th, Justin Taube (39) of Willmar (MN) and Jason Taube (39) of Willmar (MN) were arrested in Nodaway County on warrants from the State of South Dakota.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
