On June 7th, at around 11 am, the Worth County Sheriff’s Department conducted a test of the emergency siren.
On June 7th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Brett Poppa (36) of Maryville alleging Rape (Felony), Sodomy (Felony), Child Molestation (Felony), and two counts Sexual Misconduct (Felony, Child Under 15).
On June 7th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Rebekkah Vielbaum (41) and Mary Noppers (63) of Coffey alleging Filing a False Document (Felony). Northwest Mo Info reports that the charges arose after Vielbaum allegedly attempted to file a Deed of Release, which would have released $400,000 worth of property to her and her husband from an escrow company. Subsequently Noppers, the mother of the defendant, allegedly attempted to file it. The documents were not accepted because they were not original documents. Bond for both was set at $10,000, cash only.
On June 7th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jennifer Walker (48) of Princeton in Harrison County on a Grundy County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Failure to Register).
On June 7th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Joshua Dryer (20) of St. Joseph alleging DWI and Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device.
On June 7th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Arturo Velarde (60) of Maryville alleging DWI and Driving Wrong Way on Divided Highway.
On June 7th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Michelle Welsh (53) of Lansing (IA) alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).
On June 7th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Rebecca Gile (51) of Conception Junction alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving and Driving While Revoked.
On June 8th, Jamey Griffin (43) of Trenton pleaded guilty to Assault (Felony) and Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Felony) before Livingston County Judge Ryan Horsman. Judge Horsman sentenced him to 25 years. On June 14th, 2019, the defendant had allegedly gained control of a law enforcement officer’s weapon and shot her. She survived her injuries. The case was moved to Livingston County on a change of venue.
On June 9th, Jeremy Johnson (45) of Chetopa (KS) was arrested in Nodaway County on a Warrant from the State of Kansas.
On June 9th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2015 Mini Cooper driven by Ian Gorham (29) of Kansas City was northbound on I-35 near Eagleville when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the west side of the roadway into the median. The vehicle struck the median crossover, went airborne, and overturned several times. Gorham was seriously injured and life flighted to Des Moines.
On June 10th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Adam Sherrill (40) of Stanberry was northbound on Route H nine miles northeast of King City at around 1:30 pm. The vehicle missed a curve, overcorrected, crossed the roadway, traveled off the south side, struck an embankment, overturned several times, struck a fence, and came to rest on its wheels. The vehicle subsequently caught fire. Sherrill received moderate injuries and was taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph.
On June 11th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Daman Wells (37) of Creston (IA) in Gentry County on charges of DWI (Felony) and Tampering with Ignition Interlock Device. Charges were filed the next day by Prosecutor Jessica Jones, who added an additional charge of Speeding (20-25 mph over).
On June 11th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol made two drug arrests in Nodaway County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested James Pace (36) of St. Joseph on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and an Atchison County Warrant (Extortion) and Lindsay Barron (30) of Bethany on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges the next day. Subsequently, Pace was ordered extradited to Kansas to face charges there.
On June 12th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Devan Pulliam (31) of Burlington Junction alleging two counts Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000 with the defendant to be released on his own recognizance.
On June 13th, two Worth County Sheriff’s Deputies came through Sheridan and were patrolling the area between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.
Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
