Courthouse News for September 15th, 2021

On September 3rd, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jack Snyder of Diagonal on a charge of Interference with Official Acts. Bond was set at $300, cash or corporate surety.

On September 6th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Thomas Kight (38) of Phoenix (AZ) alleging Speeding (26+ mph over) and Possession of Marijuana.

On September 8th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Justin Willis (21) of Maryville alleging Rape (Felony) and Sodomy (Felony). Bond was set at $250,000, cash or corporate surety.

On September 8th, the Iowa DNR reported that there was a big fish kill in Big G Lake near Lamoni. Fishing is prohibited until the cause has been determined.

On September 9th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Shane Barett (47) of Springfield (CO) in Harrison County on charges of DWI and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway.

On September 9th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department reported that a 2015 Ford Pickup driven by Greg Berning of Osceola (IA) was westbound on Route 2 waiting to turn left onto 240th Avenue when it was struck by a 2015 Dodge Durango driven by Katie McGahuey of Mount Ayr. There were an estimated $50,000 in damages. No injuries were reported.

On September 10th, the Harrison County Health Department reported two more Coronavirus deaths.

On September 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against James Robinson (34) of Hopkins alleging DWI (Felony) and Resisting Arrest (Felony). Bond was denied.

On September 10th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Shawn Frame (41) of Burlington Junction alleging Domestic Assault. Bond was set at $50,000, cash or corporate surety.

On September 11th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Garrett Clark (20) of Salem (NE) alleging Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety.

On September 11th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Emmet Kirkendall (22) of Rulo (NE) alleging Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety.

On September 11th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Elkanah Gahima (19) of Antioch (IL) in Harrison County on charges of Resisting Arrest (Felony), Tampering with Motor Vehicle (Felony), Possession of Burglary Tools (Felony), Speeding (26+ mph over), Careless & Imprudent Driving, and Failure to Drive on Right half of Roadway. Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges the nest day. 

On September 11th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Margaret Williams of Diagonal on a charge of Failure to Appear. Bond was set at $600, cash only.

On September 12th, the Bethany Police Department reported a large amount of calls regarding vehicles being broke into over the weekend.

On September 12th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against William Cochran (38) of Hopkins alleging Domestic Assault (Felony). Bond was denied.

On September 13th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Ronald Smith (31) of Bethany alleging 3 counts Assault (Felony) and one count Stalking (Felony). Bond was set at $100,000, cash only.

On September 13th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Caleb Phillips filed charges against Jacob Morgan (30) of Ravenwood alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
