City of Grant City Issues New Coronavirus Recommendations

Effective Immediately till further notice!

Due to the increased number of COVID 19 cases in Worth County the City of Grant City highly encourages its citizens to follow the recommendations below to protect yourself and your loved ones!

City Hall is drive through only effective immediately! If you need to visit the Driver’s License Bureau, drive thru for instructions and to make an appointment or call 660-564-3719!

For the safety and health of our citizens we are recommending the following:

• Do not leave your home unless absolutely necessary!

Shelter in place by remaining in your respective residence avoiding contact with people that do not reside with you and leaving only to obtain necessary items such as food, supplies and medical treatment

• If you are elderly or in a high risk category, please take extra precaution.

• Worth County is currently at 42 confirmed cases of the Coronavirus! (Editor -- 49 as of November 9th) Please, please heed all orders, ordinances, recommendations and any other precautions that can be used to prevent the spread of this virus. Disregard for these not only endangers yourself but all of those around you!

• Visit the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and Tri-County Health Facebook or website for the latest updates and information on the virus. 

• Symptoms of coronavirus are fever, cough and shortness of breath. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms and are concerned, please call Mosaic Family Care before leaving your home at 660-564-3322 and they will assist you with your needs!

• We encourage people to not use the playground equipment in the park area as it can intensify the spread of germs.

• Please do not travel outside the area unless absolutely necessary to prevent contact with others and the possibility of bringing the virus back into our community.

• We encourage restaurants, bars, cafes and other food suppliers to go to carry out only if you have not already done so.

• Please be respectful and maintain the 6 foot distance between people if you find it necessary to go out.

• Please be respectful and mindful of others concerns.

• Wash your hands often and use sanitizing supplies when needed especially on grocery carts, gas pumps, door handles, etc. and be aware of how many times you are touching your face.

• If you are wearing gloves, change them between contact instances to prevent the spread of the virus.

• It is recommended to wear a mask in public at all times!

• If you are afraid to leave your home and are in need of assistance or supplies, please feel free to call City Hall at 660-564-3369 and we will do our best to get you some help.

• You can call the Hy-Vee for groceries at 660-564-3712 to place order for pick up. They will shop for you and you can pick up. 

• You may call ahead to Sherri’s Pharmacy for curbside drop off/pick up or they also do deliveries and can mail out your prescriptions. 660-564-3784.

• Please be respectful and thankful to all those providing grocery service, food service, medical service, mail service, retail services and all others that continue to try and make this situation easier for all of us to deal with during these times.
