Obituary -- Betty Skroh 1929-2020

Betty Elaine (Harrold) Skroh was born October 6, 1929 to John and Bessie (Lisa) Harrold in Blythedale, MO. She passed from this life on February 14, 2020 at Lamoni Specialty Care at the age of 90 years, 4 months, 8 days. In her early years she attended school in Blythedale. After it closed, she graduated from Cainsvillle High School in 1947. She taught two years in a one room school while attending summer classes in Maryville.

Betty married Wallace Adolph Skroh on April 27, 1950. To this union, they were blessed with two children, Roger Neil and Diane Elaine. They celebrated their Golden Anniversary, living 48 of those years on the farm that has been in the Skroh name for over 150 years. They grew corn and soybeans.  Betty was a farm wife who enjoyed planting and tending garden vegetables and fruits throughout the summers and canning them for use in the winters.  She cooked good, nutritious food for her family as well as any extra hands helping out.

Betty was a member of the Cainsville Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School several years. She was a 66 -year member of the American Legion Auxiliary, serving as an officer many years.

Betty is survived by son Roger (Vanya) Skroh, daughter Diane Cornett, grandchildren Sara, Karen, and Bart Skroh, Jarrod (Harmony) Cornett, Justin (Bailey) Cornett, great-grandchildren Jad and Jett Cornett, and Jaxson and Breece Cornett, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Wallace, sister Frances Young, and brothers Eugene and J. J. Harrold.

Betty’s services will be February 19, 2020 at the Cainsville Assembly of God at 11 a.m., with visitation at 10 a.m. Officiating will be her grandson Pastor Bart Skroh. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Wallace, at the Bohemian Cemetery south of Cainsville.

Arrangements were provided by the Bethany Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Bohemian Cemetery.

Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by her friends and loved ones.
