Gene was born on October 24, 1937 in Pickering, Missouri to Bert Elmer and Ona May (Combs) Pierson, Sr. He worked for the City of Maryville for 35 years in the Street Department. He enjoyed watching tv, old westerns, camping, going to Branson, Missouri and being with his grandchildren.
He married Betty Lou Rodrick on February 13, 1956, she preceded him in death on October 7, 1984. He was also preceded by his parents, son, Bert Elmer Pierson, one brother, Pearl Elmer Pierson and one sister, Mary Caroline Pierson.
Gene later married Cheryl Anita Piveral on February 20, 1987, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include son, Geno (Debbie) Pierson, Maryville, Missouri; two step-sons, David (Rhonda) Medley, Lincoln, Nebraska and Jeremy Piveral of Florida; four grandchildren, Chris (Tyra) Pierson, Dacota Pierson, Reuben Medley and David Medley, Jr.; one great-grandson, Ethan Eugene Pierson; two brothers, Wayne (Betty) Pierson, Maryville, Missouri and Bert Pierson (Judy Asher), Smithville, Missouri; one sister, Bonnie Lou David, Fairfax, Missouri.
Services 2 pm Tuesday, July 9th at Price Funeral Home, Maryville. Burial White Oak Cemetery, Pickering, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday, July 8th at Price Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association and the Parkinson’s Foundation.
