Stanberry Teen Killed in Wreck Near Gentry

A Stanberry teen, Kameron Wallace (17),  was killed in a wreck four miles west of Gentry Wednesday at around noon. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 1990 Ford Dump Truck driven by Jacobi Zimmerman (26) of Maryville and a 1981 John Deer Tractor driven by Kameron Wallace (17) of Stanberry were both eastbound on Route O and Wallace was towing a hay/mower conditioner. The dump truck tried to pass the tractor, and at the same time, the tractor moved into the center of the roadway to prevent the towed unit from traveling into a culvert.

In an effort to avoid the tractor, the dump truck traveled off the north side of the roadway and struck the tractor and towed unit in the rear. After impact, the dump truck returned to the roadway, traveled off the south side, and came to rest on the driver’s side, partially blocking the eastbound lane of Route O. The towed unit for the tractor disconnected and the tractor overturned, rolled off the north side of the roadway into a ditch, and came to rest on its driver’s side facing west.
