Neff said the road was overgrown with trees and brush, it had not been graded recently, and it requires a four wheel drive to access. Without this road, Neff would be landlocked out of land that he owns in that area. He said that he had approached Ringgold County officials, but that they wouldn’t listen to him.
Emergency Management Director and Economic Developer Gene Auten reported that the gravel was due to be delivered Monday for the helipad where the basketball court is located. The county conducted a successful siren test last Wednesday. He reported he is working on details for a solid waste dropoff for the county.
Road & Bridge Supervisor Jim Fletchall reported that the excavator was still having issues. Road #207 needs a 48” tube; a road north of Sheridan needs two tubes, a road by Ron Combs’ washed out, and Quarter Lane needs a tube.
County crews have been blading, and conservation rock has been getting put in. The county is trying to get as much tax rock on as it can, since the quarries are running low on rock this year.
