Accident Fatal to Stanberry Man Driving Golf Cart

A Stanberry man was killed in a collision between a pickup and a golf cart Saturday morning. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2008 Toyota Pickup driven by David Newton (60) of Albany was eastbound on US Route 136 three miles northeast of Stanberry at around 10:39 am. An Easy Go Golf Cart driven by Ralph Pierce (89) of Stanberry was attempting to cross the road southbound. The golf cart drove into the path of the pickup, ejecting Pierce from his vehicle. Pierce was taken to Mosaic Life Care, where he was pronounced dead at 10:30 pm. Newton was not injured in the accident.
