Power Outage in Grant City Wednesday night

A power outage hit Grant City Wednesday night at around 9 p.m.. It also affected Sheridan, Allendale, and Denver. In Sheridan, the lights flickered off and then back on. Power was restored between 10:30 and 11 p.m. The WCCC had a generator for the facility which kicked in. At MFA, the computer was knocked out and had to be rebooted. Outages in the Grant City area have been a recurring problem for KCP&L customers. A power unit had caught fire, triggering the outage. The outage did not affect United Electric customers.
