Parnell Woman Seriously Injured in ATV Accident

A Parnell woman was seriously injured in an ATV accident 3 miles west of Ravenwood Thursday evening at around 6:44 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2012 Polaris Ranger ATV driven by Harry Park, 69, of Parnell, was backing out of a closed ATV trailer on private property. A passenger, Marilyn Taber, 65, of Parnell, was sitting on the tailgate of the ATV and fell off after it struck a bump. The driver was unaware that she had fallen off and backed over Taber. The driver then came to a controlled stop. Taber received serious injuries and was taken via ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. She was later transferred to a trauma center.
