Youth Show Animals to WCCC Residents

Memorial Day was celebrated at WCCC with the movie Hidalgo and Uncle Sam’s Red, White and Blue Parfaits. The residents enjoyed the colorful Jell-O dessert. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperative so our outing to decorate at the cemeteries had to be rescheduled.

Tuesday started off with exercises and coffee. Later in the day we had a lively game of pitch and several residents came out for dominoes. Thank you to Jean and Phillip Hanks for coming out and playing pitch.

On Wednesday June 1st, we painted fingernails in the morning and had Bingo in the afternoon. Merle Foley was our blackout winner, congratulations Merle.

Bible Study attracted a nice crowd Thursday morning. Also we took a drive in the van. The residents enjoyed driving around town and down HWY 169. Helen Baker got to see the decorations for Richard Bakers fiftieth birthday that were placed in his yard. It was such a nice day everyone enjoyed getting out. Resident Council rounded out the day. It was a productive meeting with a nice attendance.

Friday morning several residents enjoyed a trip to Allendale and in the afternoon we celebrated National Doughnut Day by decorating doughnuts.

Harlee Jo Meek brought her bottle calves, Woodrow and Gus to visit Saturday morning. This brought out a lot of memories from our residents and they had a good time bottle feeding the calves. We had a visit from Buckaroo the pony. Many residents recalled their own ponies and the adventures they had. Several made use of the gazebo to enjoy the calves and pony. Thank you to Harlee Jo Meek and to Chance and Cash Jacobs for sharing their calves and pony.

Sunday school and Church Services were well attended Sunday. The Shimmy and Shake Dance Studio of Sheridan Missouri came and preformed Sunday evening. Shimmy and Shake is presented by Jessi Wilson of Bedford, Iowa and many of our local youth participate. Those entertaining on Sunday were; Liz Lyle, Alysa Lyle, Aubrey Ragan, Mollie Blaine, and Taylor Sanders of Sheridan, Maddie Runde, of Worth, Jill Hardy of Grant City and Josie Spencer of Bedford. We really appreciate those young ladies taking their time to come and entertain for us.

We would like to extend our sympathy to the family of Cheryl Allee. Cheryl was a wonderful addition to our WCCC family and will be greatly missed.
