Rob Bowers Named to Missouri Sports Hall of Fame

Rob Bowers, who started his coaching career at Worth County in 1984, was named to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame for this year.

While at Worth County, Mr. Bowers coached the Tigers to their last 11-man GRC title. He developed James Hardy into a 1,000-yard runningback. The Tigers lost to Maysville 7-0, only for South Harrison to beat the Wolverines later in the season to hand the Tigers a share of the crown. Worth County earned its second playoff bid in school history, but lost to Rock Port 42-0 in bitterly cold conditions.

Mr. Bowers went on to coach for six years at Albany successfully before moving on.

While at Richmond, he won the Class 3 State Football Championship in 2010. They were 15-0 that year.
