On November 25th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Christopher Huffman (35) of Jamesport alleging Assault and Resisting Arrest. According to a probable cause affidavit from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, the charges arose after a three hour standoff between Huffman and officers. Bond was denied.
On November 25th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Terry Parkhurst (64) of Ridgeway alleging Sexual Misconduct and Resisting Arrest. Bond was set at $3,500, cash only.
On November 26th, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Shirley Nibarger (30) of Lock Springs (MO) alleging Child Abuse (Felony) and Child Neglect (Felony).
On November 26th, Grundy County Prosecutor Kelly Wayne Puckett filed charges against Treigh Fehring (26) of Bethany alleging Stealing. An affidavit from the Grundy County Sheriff’s Department alleges the defendant stole several tools and pieces of equipment from someone’s property valued at around $3,250. Bond was set $25,000, cash only.
On November 27th, KTTN reported that arrests of nine people by the Chillicothe Police Department for various child abuse charges. The arrests followed investigations into reports of abuse, during which law enforcement uncovered what they said was evidence of physical, emotional, and neglectful treatment of children in various households.
On November 27th, KTTN, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and the Macon County Sheriff’s Department reported a poaching incident. A cow, a calf, and several deer were shot and left in a pasture in a pasture in Macon County.
On November 29th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that an 18 year old Hopkins teen sustained minor injuries at around 11:15 pm after his Chevy Silverado ran off the roadway on Jett Road one mile west of Hopkins, struck an embankment, and overturned.
On November 29th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Timothy Hoepker (18) of Hopkins on charges of DWI, Careless & Imprudent Driving, and Minor In Possession.
On December 1st, President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, of federal gun charges and federal tax evasion charges. The President also pardoned Hunter Biden for any offenses Hunter Biden has “committed or may have committed or taken part in during the period from January 1st, 2014 to December 1st, 2024.” President Biden had previously promised not to pardon his son both on the campaign trail and after he withdraw from the White House race.
On December 2nd, Daviess County Prosecutor Andrea Beth Gibson filed charges against Ricky Bottorff (40) of Kidder alleging Peace Disturbance, Resisting Arrest, Property Damage, and two counts Domestic Assault (1 Felony). Bond was denied.
On December 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Jeramy Sanders (27) of Bethany alleging Domestic Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000, cash only. On December 3rd, Van Zandt filed an additional charge alleging Resisting Arrest (Felony). An additional bond was set at $2,500, cash only.
On December 2nd, Judge Robert Rice ordered Raymond Olson (27) of Maryville to be extradited to Ringgold County to face charges of Speeding (25+ mph over) and False Imprisonment. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.
On December 2nd, a truck heading eastbound on Route 46 near Route B between Sheridan and Isadora went off the right side of the road and flipped over on its side. The driver was not injured.
On December 2nd, Governor Mike Parson announced that the execution of Chris Collings would proceed on Tuesday. The defendant allegedly abduced Rowan Ford (9), raped her, and strangled her with chicken wire before throwing her into a sinkhole. The defendant was convicted in court and the Missouri Supreme Court ordered the state to carry out his execution after the defendant had exhausted his appeals in front of five different courts at the state and federal level.
On December 2nd, Wesley Parker (41) of Maryville failed to appear to a bond forfeiture hearing in Nodaway County Circuit Court. A warrant was issued and bond was denied. The defendant had been on probation for Stealing.
On December 2nd, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Natalie Stratton (61) of Nevada (IA) alleging DWI (Drugs), Careless & Imprudent Driving, and No Insurance.
On December 2nd, US District Judge Douglas Harpool sentenced Evelyn Dame (50) of Lebanon to 15 years and eight months in prison without parole after she pleaded guilty to a charge of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine.
On December 3rd, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Brian Osborn (28) of Waukee (IA) alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).
Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
