Two Injured, One Life Flighted Following Rock Port Wreck

Two people were injured and one lifeflighted following a wreck near Rock Port Tuesday evening at around 9:52 pm. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2018 Chevy Traverse driven by Darwin Houghton (72) of Tarkio was eastbound on the 136 overpass at I-29 west of Rock Port, while a 2013 Peterbuilt driven by Bryce Stuchlik of Wahoo (NE) was turning westbound onto 136 from northbound I-29. The towed unit of the Peterbuilt crossed both lanes while making the turn, and the front of the Chevy struck the towed unit of the Peterbuilt on the driver’s side, coming to rest underneath the towed unit. Stuchlik exited the vehicle prior to it being struck. Both lanes of traffic were blocked. Houghton received serious injuries and was taken to Fairfax Hospital, and then lifeflighted to University of Nebraska Hospital. A passenger, Georgia Houghton (70) of Tarkio, received minor injuries. Stuchlik was not injured.
