Obituary -- Dick Stephenson 1933-2021

George Richard (Dick) Stephenson was born September 3, 1933 to John Dale and Dorotha Grace Stephenson in Denver, Missouri.  He attended country school at Siloam Springs and graduated for high school in Albany in 1951.

Dick passed away July 16, 2021 at his home in Albany at the age of 87.

Dick joined the United States Army in December of 1953 and after two years of active duty, served in the Reserves being honorably discharged in June 1962.

In February of 1956, Dick marred Deloris Murphy.  To this union, one son Eric Dale (Rick) Stephenson was born.

On November 15, 1986, Dick and Myrna Johnson Reinhart were married. She survives of the home.

He is also survived by his son, Rick, Independence, MO; stepdaughter, Rebecca and husband Butch Flaherty; stepson, Paul and wife Peg Reinhart, all of Albany; grandchildren, Matthew (Flag) Flaherty, Maryville; Megan Flaherty, Kellie (Tim) Runnels and Jacob (Amber) Reinhart, all of Albany; three great grandchildren, Paige and Truman Runnels, Albany; Turner Reinhart, St. Joseph; sister, Bernice; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Rosemary Stephenson, all of Grant City; many loved nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Donald John (JV) Harold and Phillip.

Dick owned and operated Dick’s MFA and Propane in Albany for 50 years, and in later years Dick’s Auto Sales.  He was a past President of the Albany Rotary.

Funeral Service:  10:30 AM Wednesday, July 21 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany.  Burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany.  The family will receive friends 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM Tuesday.  Memorial Contributions:  Dick Stephenson Memorial Fund in care of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, 403 N.
