Helen Lavare Gillespie was born September 14, 1924 in Blythedale, MO and passed away on July 20, 2021 at the age of 96, in Nevada, MO. Helen was the daughter of John Otto Wilson and Altha Bell (Wisman) Wilson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Gillespie, her parents, her sister, Dorothy Sturdevant and brother, Willis Wilson.
She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and was a housewife. She loved taking care of her grandchildren, babysitting, quilting and gardening.
She was a member of the Christian Church of Blythedale, MO.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharol Millard and husband David of Nevada. A son, Johnny Gillespie of Deerfield, 4 grandchildren: Kelly (Tracy) Beisly, Eddy, Timmy (Rhonda) and Roger Gillespie; 7 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in her memory to Barone Care Center.
Graveside services and burial were Monday, July 26 at 1:00 p.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO.
