There were two teen wrecks in Nodaway County Wednesday. The first occurred at 12:41 am that morning near Wilcox. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Trevor Meyer (19) of Burlington Junction was northbound on 71 and went off the east side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a ditch and overturned several times before coming to rest on its top facing northeast. Meyer received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The second involved a two-car accident on MacArthur Drive at Ideal Road two miles north of Maryville. The Patrol reports that a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Joseph Mullings (23) of Maryville was westbound on MacArthur Drive traveling on the wrong side of the roadway as a 2006 KIA Optima driven by Jennifer Cacek (17) of Maryville was making a right turn onto eastbound MacArthur Drive from Ideal Road at around 4:53 pm Wednesday afternoon. The Pathfinder struck the Optima. Both vehicles came to rest on their wheels in the eastbound lane of MacArthur Drive. Cacek received minor injuries and was transported to St. Francis Hospital. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
