Doris L. Koger, 91, of Clearmont, MO passed from this life on Friday, March 11, 2016, with her family at her side. She had been a resident of Parkdale Manor in Maryville for eight years.

Doris was born January 5, 1925 in rural Clearmont to Fred and Blanche (Plummer) Griffey. She attended various elementary schools and graduated from Hopkins, MO high school with the class of 1943. On November 29, 1943 she was united in marriage to Donnald Koger, who preceded her in death on Jan 5, 1988. To this union were born two sons, Lavelle and Tracy.

Doris briefly taught in a one-room school before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was very active, helping her husband on the family farm for many years. Doris enjoyed all kinds of music and played the piano for the Clearmont Christian Church for many years, where she was a faithful and dedicated member.

Most important to Doris was her family, especially her grandchildren, to whom sleepovers and eating out will long be remembered. “Grandma Koger’s” baking holds special meaning for the many people with whom she shared her goodies. She also enjoyed traveling and playing cards with her bridge club.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and sister, Pauline Gates.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Lavelle “Huck” (Pam) Koger and Tracy (Karen) Koger, of Clearmont; grandchildren Shevon (Shawna) Koger, Shad (Crysty) Koger, Shanna (Dennis) Brincks, Leah Koger, and Christopher (Megan) Koger; great-grandchildren Trevor and Trent Koger, Brayden and Brylie Brincks, Kayla, Karri, Ben and Trey Bowling, and Canaan and Gideon Koger; multiple nieces and nephews, and many friends.
