Dean was a WWII veteran, and was a farmer for most of his life.
On June 9, 1944, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Rose Parman, who preceded him in death on October 15, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Bethel Alderson; his brothers, Truman (KIA WWII) and Eugene; and his sister, Ruth Jefferson.
Dean is survived by his four children, Linda (Steve) Popplewell, Larry (Debbie) Alderson, Jim (Veronica) Alderson, and Caroline (Mike) White; six grandchildren, Ginger Craven, Amy Groeneveld (David Ledger), Jeff (Jeneca) Harms, Ryan (Jessica) Pollan, Tara (Nathan) Meinert, and Andrea (Adam) Lyngar and one step-grandson, Russell (Dawn) Hill; seven great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Groeneveld, Cyrus and Joslyn Harms, Jeremiah and Jayda Pollan, and Larson and Ardyn Rose Lyngar and two step-great-grandchildren, Miranda and Dustin Hill; as well as his sister-in-law, Ruth (Del) Pearson, brothers-in-law, Duane (Sylvia) Parman and Doyle (Carol) Parman, and 19 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, March 11, at Andrews-Hann Funeral Home, Grant City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the services. Burial will be in the Grant City Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by Worth County Memorial VFW Post 3123.
