Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports

On December 9th, Virgil Parman (50) of Grant City was convicted in Harrison County Circuit Court by a jury of charges of Knowingly Burning or Exploding (Felony), Attempted Witness Tampering (Felony), and Witness Tampering (Felony). Sentencing will be held at a later date.

On December 10th, Wesley Craig Adams (29) of Breckinridge pleaded guilty in Livingston County Circuit Court to a charge of Possession of Child Pornography (Felony). He was sentenced to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Daren Adkins.

On December 10th, Tyler Lundy (24) of Eagleville pleaded guilty in Harrison County Circuit Court to two counts of Statutory Sodomy (Felony). He was sentenced to 10 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Judge Anthony Horvath.

On December 15th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 34 year old Maryville driver was seriously injured in a wreck on Route O three quarters of a mile east of Ravenwood at around 6:30 am that morning when he ran off the road, struck a ditch, and overturned.

On December 15th, Judge Joel Miller granted the dissolution of marriage petition filed by Ashley Farmer against Kenneth Farmer, both of Grant City.

On December 15th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 78-year-old Barnard driver attempted to turn right from southbound Route 71 onto 340th Street in Nodaway County when he was struck by a 30 year old Oregon driver at around 7:20 pm that evening.  The Barnard driver received moderate injuries and his vehicle was totaled.

On December 15th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Calvin Heinrich (41) of King City alleging  two counts Passing a Bad Check (Felony). The complaint alleges that the defendant  wrote checks of $3,014.20 and $5,644.86 to Midway Ready Mix for concrete that were returned for insufficient funds. Bond was set at $4,000.

On December 16th, fourteen Worth County students participated in the school’s annual Shop with a Cop day.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
