Area Courthouse, Police, and Crime Reports for January 31st, 2024

On January 10th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department reported that Rolland Adkisson (45) was trying to pull a semi out of the snow on 230th Avenue in Mount Ayr. A pickup driven by David Sayler (44) of Bedford struck the cable. Adkisson was cited for no proof of insurance. There were no injuries.

On January 23rd, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department reported that Cody Jay (46) of Mount Ayr was pushing snow on North Hayes Street in Mount Ayr when his snowplow caught a snowbank, causing it to strike a parked vehicle owned by Max Buckner. There were no injuries.

On January 23rd, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office reported that it was called to a Mount Ayr apartment complex in regards to a dispute. One of the participants had left and was located at the Dollar General and arrested. The Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Marcus Collins of Van Wert (IA) on charges of Controlled Substance Violation (Felony), Possession of Methamphetamine, Tax Stamp Violation (Felony), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was being held on no bond until seen by a magistrate.

On January 24th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Mark Luke (55) of Stanberry alleging Failure to Stop, Driving While Revoked, No Insurance, and Failure to Comply with Ignition Interlock Requirements.

On January 24th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Erin Graves (45) of Stanberry alleging Unlawful Possession of a Firearm (Felony) and Receiving Stolen Property (Felony). 

On January 25th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against McKenzie Zerbe (29) of Ridgeway and Molly Parkhurst (28) of Eagleville alleging Assault.

On January 26th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Amber Dorman (45) of Savannah alleging Burglary (Felony) and Stealing (Felony). An affidavit from the Maryville Police Department alleges that they got a tip from someone stating items from their storage unit were stolen and that they recognized items for sale on Facebook that were theirs. The defendant had allegedly broken into their storage unit and had taken them. Items alleged stolen were a sound system, TV’s, a laptop computer, and two lighters. The combined value of the items was alleged to be $1,389.78.

On January 26th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Richardo Hernandez-Garcia (32) of Bethany alleging DWI.

On January 27th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Jagger Moad (22) of Bethany alleging Driving While Revoked (Felony). 

On January 28th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Peyton Doerr (19) of Verdon (NE) in Nodaway County on a charge of DWI. 

On January 29th, Robert Greenwood (49) of Bedford was arrested in Nodaway County and ordered extradited to Pottawattamie County (IA) on a charge of Driving While Revoked. Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.

On January 29th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Brandon Benedict (24) of Omaha alleging Stealing (Felony). Bond was set at $1,000, cash only. An affidavit from the Maryville Police Department alleges the defendant stole a vacuum, an electric toaster oven, ice maker, electric hand mixer, a cutting board, silverware, a tool and gadget crock set, and an electric toaster from the Maryville Wal-Mart valued at $963.77.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
