Courthouse News for September 6th, 2023

On August 30th, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Leander Gingerich (34) of Bethany alleging Sexual Misconduct Involving a Minor (Felony). Bond was set at $500,000, cash only.

On August 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Matthew Vore (44) of Maryville alleging DWI, Resisting Arrest, and no Headlights.

On August 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Hayden Emery (23) of Maryville alleging DWI and Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On August 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Tina Dieter filed charges against Richard Arnold (52) of Ravenwood alleging No Valid License (Felony), Failure to Register, and No Insurance. 

On August 31st, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Stephen Deming (34) of Spickard alleging Assault (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000, cash or corporate surety.

On August 31st, Harrison County Prosecutor Alex Van Zandt filed charges against Shawn Perry (53) of Bellvue (IA) alleging Possession of Methamphetamine. Bond was set at $10,000, cash or corporate surety.

On August 31st at 7:59 pm, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2021 Canam driven by Geoffrey Kemlin (44) of Solesmes (France) and a 2023 Polaris driven by Caden Farnan (24) of Stanberry were northbound on Route J three miles southeast of Conception. The Polaris attempted to turn and was struck by the Canam.. Kemlin received minor injuries and was taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph. Farnan was not injured. 

On September 1st, Nodaway County Assistant Prosecutor Amy Cloud filed charges against Emily Measaw (32) of Clearmont alleging 5 counts Stealing.

On September 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Tayton Berendes (21) of Bethany in Harrison County on a Harrison County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Traffic Violation, Property Damage, Larceny).

On September 1st, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Ines Cuellar Escobar (53) of Crosby (TX) in Harrison County on charges of DWI (Felony), No Valid License (Felony), and Speeding (79 mph). Bond was set at $20,000, cash only.

On September 1st at around 7:55 pm, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2001 Ford F-250 driven by Utah Stulz (39) of Darlington was eastbound on Route 136 at Route 85 in Albany while a 2012 Ford Escape driven by Judy Edwards (76) of Albany was westbound. The Patrol says the Escape failed to yield and struck the driver’s side of the F-250. Edwards received minor injuries and was taken to Mosaic in Albany. Stulz was not injured.

On September 2nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Matthew Huey (25) of Maryville in Nodaway County on charges of DWI and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway (Accident). 

On September 2nd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Matthew Melchor (29) of Overland Park (KS) in Harrison County on charges of Careless & Imprudent Driving and DWI.

On September 2nd, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department arrested Linda Harper (58) of Kellerton on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault. She was being held on no bond until seen by the magistrate.

On September 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Misty Lintz (41) of Bethany in Harrison County on a charge of DWI.

On September 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Brandon West (42) of Independence on a charge of No Valid License and a Clay County Warrant (Arson).

On September 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a Honda Motorcycle driven by Seger Mace (18) of Coin (IA) was northbound on Railroad Street in Elmo at around 6:20 pm and a 2002 Chevy 1500 driven by Darrin Harvey (54) of Elmo was westbound on Route C. The Patrol says the Honda failed to yield the right of way. The Chevy attempted to avoid the Honda and partially ran off the roadway, but the Honda skidded, overturned, and struck the towed unit, ejecting the driver. Mace was killed in the wreck. Harvey was not injured.

Charges listed are merely allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
