A Hopkins woman and a Pickering teen were killed in a wreck Wednesday evening and three children were injured; one was lifeflighted. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2009 Ford Fusion driven by a 17 year old girl was southbound on Route 148 and 192nd Street at around 5:48 pm that evening, while a 2017 Chevy Traverse driven by Tiffany Piveral (30) of Hopkins was northbound. The Fusion crossed the center line and struck the Chevy head-on. Piveral was killed in the accident, as was the 17 year old teen. Three children, aged 11, 9, and 8, who were passengers in the Piveral vehicle, were injured; one was life flighted.
