NEN Grad Transforming Yards in Richmond (VA)

NEN grad Angela Steins, still with her game face after all this time, has started a new business, Mulchmamarva, to transform yards throughout Richmond (VA).

Angela was deadly in the clutch for the Bluejays; in one game in the 1993-94 season against North Nodaway, she raced down the floor with six seconds left and hit a game-tying shot over three taller girls as time expired to send it into overtime; the Bluejays won.

In another game during the 1992-93 season, Worth County and NEN were playing for the Worth County Tournament Championship in overtime. Worth County had trailed 14-0 at halftime, but had battled back to force overtime against the Bluejays. Finally, with Worth County up one in the closing seconds of overtime, Angela Steins drove down the right side of the baseline. The Worth County students started the false countdown, but it backfired as Angela put one up from behind the backboard, and it dropped in, nothing but net.

She is the daughter of Bob and Joyce Steins of Ravenwood, and has two sisters, Abbie and Amy.
