Courthouse News for July 8th, 2020

On June 22nd, Kristin O’Neal (64) of Maryville was sentenced to six years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on a charge of Delivery of a Controlled Substance. She had pleaded guilty on May 4th. On April 4th, 2019, she was arrested by the Maryville Police and the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department after she had allegedly attempted to sell a controlled substance within 2,000 feet of a school, which is a protected zone under state law.

On June 29th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Taylor Jones (29) of Pattonsburg alleging Driving While Revoked and Driving with Illegal Lighted Lamps.

On June 30th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against Terry Wilson (25) of Stanberry alleging Driving While Revoked, Speeding (20-25 mph over), and No Insurance.

On June 30th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Alexus Thornton (25) of Kansas City in Harrison County on charges of Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident), No Valid License, and DWI (Drugs). She was subsequently charged by Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer.

On June 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Rebekah Green (28) of Maryville alleging Domestic Assault (Felony).

On June 30th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Trace Harvey (22) of Maryville alleging Burglary (Felony), four counts Stealing, and Property Damage. Bond was set at $7,500.

On July 2nd, Worth County Prosecutor Janet Wake Larison filed charges against Jeremy Roberts (27) of Kansas City alleging Assault (Felony). 

On July 2nd, someone littered some fast food bags along Route 46 half a mile west of Route E near Ravenwood.

On July 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Rickey Crowley (21) of Mount Moriah in Harrison County on charges of Resisting Arrest, Driving While Revoked, Careless & Imprudent Driving, No Plates, and No Seat Belt. He was subsequently charged by Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer.

On July 3rd, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Serena Watson (22) of Cainsville in Harrison County on a Nodaway County Warrant for Failure to Appear (Speeding, Hindering Prosecution, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia).

On July 5th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Jazmine Byers (28) of Fridley (MN) in Harrison County on charges of Speeding (97 mph), Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Controlled Substance (Ecstasy). He was subsequently charged by Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer.

On July 6th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department says Austin Brokaw (24) of Diagonal failed to stop at a stop sign, and a pursuit ensued for six miles before he lost control and came to rest near Diagonal on 160th Avenue and 210th Street. He was arrested for Driving While Suspended, Reckless Driving, No Insurance, and Failure to Register.

On July 6th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Lyle Johnson (51) of Houston (TX) alleging Careless & Imprudent Driving (Accident).

On July 6th, Special Prosecutor Myra Stout filed charges against Rusty Pruett (44) of Bethany in Harrison County alleging Non-Support (Felony).

On July 6th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that one person was shot dead and another arrested after a one hour standoff in Fairfax. 

On July 6th, KQ2 reported that someone was throwing rocks and bricks at motorists on Route 36, damaging their cars.

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
