Dr. Lauren Umstattd Begins Fellowship in Plastic Surgery

Dr. Lauren Umstattd, granddaughter to Barbara Stephenson and the late Phillip Stephenson and daughter to Monte and Janice Stephenson, has accepted an offer to complete a 12-month fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with Dr. Phillip Langsdon in Memphis, TN. Lauren completed her undergraduate education at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO in 2011. During that time, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.

She stayed at the University of Missouri for medical school, obtaining her M.D. in 2015. This spring, she completed a 5-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO.

In pursuit of additional cosmetic training specializing in surgical and non-surgical treatment of the face, eyes, nose, and neck, Dr. Umstattd elected to continue her education through the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. After interviewing around the country for several highly coveted positions, she was selected among her peers to train under Dr. Phillip Langsdon at the Langsdon Clinic in Germantown, TN. She will work under his direction from July 2020 - July 2021.

Next summer, upon completion of her fellowship program, she intends to open her own practice in Kansas City, offering the most advanced surgical and non-surgical facial optimization and rejuvenation. Dr. Umstattd is an astute surgeon and is excited to help women feel comfortable in their own skin.

In her free time, Dr. Umstattd enjoys spending time with her 2-year-old son, Harris, and husband, Corbin.
