Hopkins CBC Seeking to Add Playground Equipment

The Hopkins CBC is looking to add playground equipment to the Hopkins City Park on the northwest end of town. They have obtained a quote from Miracle Playground for around $37,000 and are in the process of seeking funding. They are looking at grants and help from other community organizations.

The equipment would be in addition to the equipment already in the park. It would replace old equipment that has been removed from the park due to age.

The CBC is tentatively planning to hold a Barn Quilt show again this year. The tentative date will be September 13th, with a rain date of September 20th. One possibility discussed this year is an Amazing Race theme, where contestants would have to finish one task before completing another, such as free throw shooting, for instance. Recruiting of local and area groups and vendors was discussed at the regular meeting Monday. The goal will be to get 100 barn quilts up around Hopkins by September.
