Courthouse News for October 3rd

On September 21st, Worth County Prosecutor Brett Hurst filed charges against Kristine Porter (31) of Creston alleging Leaving the Scene of an Accident in which Property Damage Exceeded $1,000. This is a Class E Felony in Missouri.

On September 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Carson Cline (21) of Lenox alleging Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

On September 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Andrew Stimson (32) of Kansas City alleging Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

On September 24th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Kelli Wulff (40) of Grain Valley alleging Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

On the night of September 24th and morning of September 25th, someone entered a property in Liberty Township Section 11 near 180th Street and 262nd Avenue in Ringgold County. Once they entered the property they stole a 2013 H&H white enclosed trailer containing 2 four wheelers (2016 gray can-am ATV, 2017 white can-am ATV); 10 steel posts; 20 8 ft fiberglass flags; 50 ft power washer hose; 100 ft power washer hose; power washer wand, swivel and ends; 100 ft rope; 6 tow straps; 2 receiver hitches with 2 inch balls; toolbox;, and miscellaneous tools. Total value of the property stolen was $38,000.00. The stolen property was all owned by Brandon Bjustrom of rural Mount Ayr. The investigation is still on going. On September 25th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Kevin Adcock (29) of Blythedale alleging Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On September 25th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Emily Brown (17) of Gilman City alleging Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

On September 25th, Worth County Prosecutor Brett Hurst filed charges against Josh Minnick (39) of Grant City alleging Driving While Revoked and Failure to Comply with Ignition Interlock Requirements.

Timothy Jones, 59, of Bedford was arrested on September 26, 2018 in the 100 block of Pearl Street in Bedford by the Taylor County Sheriff’s Department. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct and is being held at the Taylor County jail on $300 bond.

On September 26th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Jeffrey Lewis (26) of Maryville alleging Possession of Marijuana.

On September 26th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Madison Wilson (23) of St. Joseph alleging Possession of a Controlled Substance at the County Jail, a Class D Felony.

On September 27th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Marisa Mackey (30) of Ravenwood alleging DWI and Failure to Drive on Right Half of Roadway, Resulting in an Accident.

On September 27th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Shawn Brisbin (40) of Council Bluffs alleging 1st Degree Property Damage and Stealing.

On September 27th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Emmalee Shields (20) of Omaha alleging Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

On September 27th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Andrew Eastvold (18) of Kansas City alleging Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

On September 27th, Harrison County Prosecutor Jonathan Meyer filed charges against Stephanie Critten (39) of Bethany alleging Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (prior offense).

On 9/27/2018, at about 11:15 PM, Maryville Police requested the assistance of Sgt. Hann and K-9 Bolt to look for a Parole Absconder at 616 North Buchanan in Maryville. The absconder, Wesley Gene Parker II, was located and taken into custody. Friday morning, the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department provided him a courtesy ride back to the Missouri Department of Corrections.

On 9/27/2018, Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney Rice charged 30 year old Emmett Scott Bates of Burlington Junction, Missouri, with Statutory Sodomy and Endangering the Welfare of a child. The investigation was conducted by Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Bragg and Detective Cochenour. Other agencies investigating included the Children’s Division, Northwest Missouri Children’s Advocacy Center (Voices of Courage), and the Children’s and Women’s Shelter’s victim advocate.

On September 28th, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Jerrod King (40) of Maryville alleging Domestic Assault and Assault.

On September 30, 2018 at 8:30 pm Bryan Duane Alden age 28 of Mount Ayr, was arrested by the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department on an arrest warrant issued by Polk County, Iowa for Harassment 3rd degree.

On October 1st, Nodaway County Prosecutor Robert Rice filed charges against Trevin Wilmes (22) of Maryville alleging 2nd Degree Burglary and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device.

On October 1st, Special Prosecutor Barbara Klima filed charges against Samuel Pitts (30) of Iowa City alleging Nonpayment of 12+ Months of Child Support (Class E Felony).

Charges listed are mere allegations. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty it is to determine guilt or innocence. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
