The Worth County R-III Student Council will hold a Community Breakfast on Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the school cafeteria from 8-10 am. This free-will donation event is open to the entire community and all proceeds will go toward the purchase and installation of a digital sign for placement along Highway 46.
In addition, Student Council will also receive recycling from those district patrons that live outside the city limits of Grant City. Student Council received a grant through the Northwest Missouri Solid Waste Management District A to start the Tigers Recycle Program. School district patrons may bring recyclable paper, plastic, tin cans, aluminum cans, and cardboard the recycling trailers located in the south parking lot. Please make sure that all cans and plastic bottles are empty.
“We are hoping to make this a monthly event,” said Student Council President, Abbi Caddenhead. “We have heard that many in the community are supportive of the digital sign, so we hope people will come out to the breakfast and bring their recyclables when they come.”
The student council intends to raise the $25,000 needed for the sign through fundraisers. If patrons are unable to come to the event, however, and would like to make a charitable gift to the project, they may send their donation to Worth County Student Council, Digital Sign Fund, 510 East Avenue, Grant City, MO 64456.
