North Nodaway drops second straight home softball match

North Nodaway dropped its second straight home softball match, falling 7-2 to DeKalb as David Carroll's squad came back down to earth after starting the season with three straight wins. It was the second straight loss after they fell 13-1 to Plattsburg. The theme could be "revenge of the Tiger," since North Nodaway beat Worth County to start out their season, only to fall to two other Tiger squads in Plattsburg and DeKalb.

Hitting has been one of the causes of North Nodaway's struggles as they have only managed six in their two losses, including four in Tuesday night's game. Madison Thompson got two of North Nodaway's four hits, including a double. Thompson and Emma Hart drove in North Nodaway's runs; the Mustangs picked up single tallies in the sixth and seventh. Although North Nodaway avoided the big inning, DeKalb gradually pulled away, scoring one in the second, two in the third, one in the fifth, two in the sixth, and one in the seventh. Breann O'Riley took the loss, pitching six innings. Keagan O'Riley pitched the seventh.
