The Worth County teams fell to North Harrison Monday night. The girls fell 57-48 as once again, the bad third quarter hurt them like it has much of the year. The girls trailed 13-12 after one quarter, but they came back to take a 28-25 lead at the break. However, they dug themselves into a 14-4 hole in the third quarter and could not make up the deficit.
The girls got three players in double figures in the loss. Sydney Thummel led the scoring with 13 points. Haven Schottel followed with 11 and Kacey Smyser had 10. Claire Andrews had 9 as she continued to emerge as a double figure threat every night. Kaitlyn Davidson had 4 and Kristen Andrews 1. The team was 12 for 19 from the field. Schottel and Claire Andrews had one 3-pointer each.
The defensive woes continued for the Tiger boys as they gave up 44 first half points and dug themselves into a 44-27 hole at the break. They played stronger in the second half, only giving up 19 points. However, they could not make up their deficit and fell 63-53.
Bryce Ross led the scoring with 25 points for the Tigers. Brevyn Ross followed with 12. Cole Parman had 6, Andrew Mullock had 5, and Grant Parman and Lane Craven had 2 each. The Tigers were 16 for 23 from the free throw line and Andrew Mullock had the lone 3-pointer for Worth County.
