Bertha Hawbeck of Moses Lake, WA celebrated her 104th birthday Saturday. She was born and raised in Sheridan and is the grandmother of Gary Hawk and the great-grandmother of Mary Jo Riley of Sheridan. She has many more friends and family in the area as well.
She was born in 1908. Teddy Roosevelt was the President, Worth County had nearly 10,000 people, European leaders were beating the drums of war, the train was still rolling through Sheridan, and there was no electricity or Internet or cars.
