A fundraiser will be held for the Grant City Basketball Court Saturday, April 21st at 10:00. There will be a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and a horseshoe tournament as we.. There will be a $10 entry fee due by 10 a.m.
For 3 on 3, games will be played to 16 and teams must win by two; however, the first team to reach 21 will be declared the winner. All games will have a 15 minute running clock. Each team will be awarded one 45-second timeout per game. Teams must have a minimum of three players to start a game; game time is forfeit time. Teams may have up to four players listed on their roster; rosters may be altered until the close of tournament check-in.
All baskets made inside the 3-point line will be scored as one point and the offense will retain possession. Baskets made beyond the 3-point arc will count as two. Technicals and flagrant fouls will be awarded two points to the opposing team.
For the horseshoe tournament, the object is to throw the horseshoe around or near the stake on the opposite side of the course. A straightedge will be used to determine ringers. Ringers count as three points while horseshoes that come within 6 inches of the stake will count as one point. Horseshoes that come within six inches of the stake, including horseshoes that lean on the stake, will count as one point. The first team to 21 points wins.
