Junior High Tigers Sweep Quad Meet; Girls Avenge Albany Loss

Worth County’s junior high teams won a home quad meet last Tuesday, and the girls avenged a narrow loss to Albany in the process. The girls won with 76.5 points, edging out Platte Valley with 72. Albany had 58.5, while Stanberry had 19. On the boys side, Worth County had a much easier time of it as they won with 90 points. Albany had 53, Platte Valley 50, and Stanberry 28.

Morgan Beagle was fifth in the 100 with a time of 15.20.

Anna Spainhower was third in the 200 with a time of 31.93.

Braidy Hunt won the 1600 with a time of 6:31.79.

The girls finished 1-2 in the 100 Hurdles. Morgan Beagle won with a time of 18.31. Jill Hardy improved on her time from the Early Bird and got second with a time of 19.14. Aivry Griffin also placed, getting fourth with a time of 19.64.

The 4x100 team of Megan Cassavaugh, Morgan Beagle, Allison Larison, and Anna Spainhower was second with a time of 59.93. The 4x200 team was second behind Albany; the team of Megan Cassavaugh, Jill Hardy, Allison Larison, and Aivry Griffin was second with a time of 2:09.50. The 4x400 team of Megan Cassavaugh, Allison Larison, Jill Hardy, and Braidy Hunt was second with a time of 4:57.90.

The girls finished 1-2 in the High Jump. Anna Spainhower won with a height of 4’4”, while Aivry Griffin was second with a height of 3’10”.

Aivry Griffin picked up another medal in the Pole Vault, where she was third with a height of 5 feet.
The girls took the top three places in the Long Jump. Megan Cassavaugh won with a jump of 13’7.5”. Morgan Beagle was second with a jump of 12’9.5”, while Allison Larison was third with a jump of 12’7”.

The girls placed three in the Triple Jump. Braidy Hunt was second with a jump of 28’1.5”. Jill Hardy was fourth with a jump of 26’9.5”, while Anna Spainhower was fifth with a jump of 26’3”.

EmiLee Brown was second in the Shot Put with a throw of 25’4”, while Maddie Taute picked up her first medal in the event with a throw of 25’1”.

The girls placed two in the Discus as EmiLee Brown was fourth with a throw of 55’9”, and Calli Mancuso was fifth with a throw of 47’1.5”.

On the boys side, Andrew Alarcon easily won the 100 with a time of 12.89. Teammate Lucas Wake was fifth with a time of 14.58. Andrew Alarcon also won the 200 with a time of 27 seconds, .78 of a second ahead of Arthur Griffin (Platte Valley).

Andrew Alarcon picked up his third win of the afternoon with a win in the 400, with a time of 1:00.52. Nate Adwell was third with a time of 1:05.33.

The boys placed two in the 800 as Josh Freed was third with a time of 2:40, while Jackson Runde was fourth with a time of 2:44.

Jace Cousatte was third in the 1600 with a time of 5:56.51.

The boys placed two in the 100 Hurdles. Aydan Gladstone was second with a time of 19.25. Jace Cousatte was right behind him with a time of 19.44.

All three relay teams placed. The 4x100 team of Aydan Gladstone, Reid Gabriel, Alex Rinehart, and Lucas Wake was second with a time of 56.25. The 4x200 team of Aydan Gladstone, Reid Gabriel, Alex Rinhart, and Nate Adwell was also second, posting a time of 1:55.59. The 4x400 team of Jace Cousatte, Reid Gabriel, Alex Rinehart, and Nate Adwell won with a time of 4:34.

The boys placed two in the High Jump as Lucas Wake was second with a height of 4’8”. Jace Cousatte was right behind with a height of 4’6”.

Nate Adwell continued to dominate the Pole Vault, with a height of 10’6”. Teammate Aydan Gladstone was third with a height of 7 feet.

Andrew Alarcon won the Long Jump handily for his fourth win of the afternoon, getting a jump of 16’5.5”, almost two feet ahead of his nearest competitor. Alex Rinehart was second with a jump of 14’9.5”.

Josh Freed won the Triple Jump with a jump of 26’8”.

Reid Gabriel won the Discus handily, getting a throw of 105’6.5”, almost 24 feet ahead of his nearest competitor. Jackson Runde was fifth with a throw of 65’1.5”.
