Worth County’s girls made a big run through the North Harrison junior high tournament before falling 32-23 to Albany Thursday. They knocked off North Harrison, with whom they played a double overtime game, 41-17 in their first game and Princeton 36-17 in their second game.
The Tigers started off well as Kristen Tracy got loose in transition and Audrey Runde added a free throw to make it 3-0. The teams traded buckets until Kristen Tracy scored from inside off a pass from Kambree Briner and added a shot from the high post to start the second to make it 9-4.
But then Marley Hansel hit a 3-pointer to spark the Warriors, and they went on a 9-0 run to regain the lead. Kennedi Epperly’s putback capped the run and put them up 13-9. Audrey Runde’s baseline shot cut it to 15-13 at the break.
Worth County fought back midway through the third quarter and Kristen Tracy hit a shot from the wing and Audrey Runde scored off a drive to tie it at 19. But then Hansel sparked the Warriors again, this time hitting a guarded three. Emerson Hogue added a drive with 8 seconds left in the third to give the Warriors the lead back at 24-19.
The Tigers twice cut the Warrior lead to 26-23, but missed a couple of free throws down the stretch as Hogue took over the final stretch and the Tigers had to start fouling.
Kristen Tracy had 11 points for the Tigers. Audrey Runde had 6, Kambree Briner had 4, and Brianna Riley had 2.

Kambree Briner had 4 steals. Audrey Runde had 4, Keira Hardy 3, and Kristen Tracy, Brianna Riley, and Megan Tracy had 1 each.
