On the morning of April 28th, St. Joseph police were called to a house at 22nd & Jones Street in response to a shots fired call at around 4 am, KQ2 reports. The standoff lasted for more than four hours, until officers smoked him out of his house with tear gas. There were no injuries during the standoff.
On April 29th, Gentry County Prosecutor Jessica Jones filed charges against James Coss (34) of Albany alleging Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond was set at $4,950, cash or corporate surety.

On April 29th, Maryville Public Safety reported that there was a problem with illegal dumping of household waste at Nodaway County Recycling. Items accepted include metal, kitchen appliances, flat screen TV’s and monitors, computers, and batteries. Items not accepted include household trash, paper, cardboard, yard waste, tube televisions, tires, glass, plastic, furniture, and mattresses. Illegal dumping constitutes littering under both Maryville city ordinances and Missouri state law.
On April 29th, DeKalb County Prosecutor Erik Tate filed charges against Justin Burnett (30) of McFall alleging Stealing (Felony) and Defrauding Secured Creditors (Felony).
On April 29th, the St. Joseph Police Department reported that someone had fallen off the Cook Road Overpass on I-29 that morning at around 7:30 am and was struck by a car and killed.

He is described as a white male, 33 years old, 6’2″ and 175 pounds. He may have longer hair than in this photo. On April 30th, the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office reported that a vehicle driven by Trisha Holmes of Hatfield was eastbound on J55 at around 1:15 am when she struck a cow. The vehicle sustained major damage, and Holmes was transported to Ringgold County Hospital to be evaluated.

On April 30th, KMA reports that two Council Bluffs men were arrested in Fremont County after doing 124 miles per hour. Eric Pond (20) was charged with Speeding, Reckless Driving, Theft, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana. A passenger, Cortez Grennell, was charged with Conspiracy to Distribute Marijuana.
On May 1st, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department reported that 4-5 people were driving around the county in a Black Range Rover SUV and posing as salespeople in an effort to enter homes. If encountered, contact your local sheriff’s department.
On May 1st, Jeremy Livingston (43) of St. Joseph was sentenced to 8 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to Involuntary Manslaughter (Felony). KQ2 reports that he had been driving under the influence when he crashed his car into a tree. He had been driving between 69 mph and 76 mph in a 25 mph zone, and Danielle Grable, a passenger in the vehicle, was killed.
On May 1st, Ray County Prosecutor Camille Johnston filed charges against Paige Evans (26) of Norborne alleging Resisting Arrest, Escape from Custody, two counts of Stealing, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and five counts Tampering with Motor Vehicle. Bond was set at $5,000, cash or corporate surety.
On May 2nd, Livingston County Prosecutor Adam Warren filed charges against Tayvien Helm (19) of Chillicothe alleging Delivery of Marijuana (Felony) and Stealing (Felony). Bond was set at $5,000, cash only.
On May 3rd, the St. Joseph Police Department reported that someone had been shot in the leg on the 1700 block of Olive Street at around 11:15 pm.
On Sunday, May 3, 2020, at about 10:12 PM, the Nodaway County Sheriff was notified that an adult male was making threats to individuals in the Burlington Junction area. The male also threatened to harm himself and to shoot the Sheriff and Deputies if they came to his residence. The Sheriff and Deputies responded and a safe perimeter was set. They were assisted by Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers. Text messages of alleged threats and an alleged image of the male holding a pistol were obtained. It was also alleged that the male had been drinking and smoking marijuana and was very agitated. A negotiator made phone contact with the male. No shots were fired during this incident. During the subsequent investigation, the pistol involved was recovered. The male was not harmed. The male suspect had a previous felony conviction for possession of a controlled substance. The Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney has charged Michael John Molnar, age 39, with a class D felony of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. He was also charged with harassment. He is currently in custody with a $50,000.00 cash only bond.
A 16 year old teen, River James Cliff, has been reported missing from Savannah. He was last seen on April 16th. Anyone with information is asked to call the Andrew County Sheriff’s Office at (816) 324-4114.
On May 4th, the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested Christina Sollars (41) of Leavenworth (KS) in DeKalb County on charges of DWI, Leaving the Scene, Careless & Imprudent Driving, and No Insurance.
On May 5th, Harrison County Prosecutor Johnathan Meyer filed charges against Nolan Hamilton (31) of Bethany alleging Domestic Assault, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Property Damage. Bond was set at $15,000, cash only.
