Hali Smith Second at State for North Harrison FFA

Hali Smith was second overall at the State FFA Convention held recently for North Harrison. Her Livestock team was 9th overall, and both Hali and her team got a Group I (highest) rating. Other team members were Lani Briggs, Jaxcynn Hansel, and Andrew Craig.

The Agronomy team was 35th overall and got a Group II rating. Members were Rylee Valenti, Alonna Milligan, Kyler Kimbrough, and Ethan Henson.

The Poultry Team was 23rd overall, good enough for a Group II rating. Members were Creighton Graham, Jacoby Ballard, Meric Hansel, and Mason Hicks.

The Forestry Team was 26th overall, good enough for a Group II rating. Members were Lani Briggs, Jaxcynn Hansel, Kellan Craig, and Jensen Davis.

Henry Frank was 16th overall for the Dairy Cattle team and got a Group I rating. The team was 17th overall with a Group II rating. Other team members were Lance Jacobs, Cole Hartschen, and Baylor Hoffman.

Lela Hartschen was 19th overall for the Meats team, good enough for a Group I rating. The team finished 28th overall, getting a Group II rating. Other members were Addison Milligan, Bailee Barnhart, and Dustin Hamilton.

The Horses team was 37th overall. Team members were Ryker Fortner, Hali Smith, Wyatt Maize, and Devin Post.

Four Shamrocks got their State FFA degrees at the convention. They were Dustin Hamilton, Ethan Henson, Andrew Craig, and Lela Hartschen.

 

 

Several North Harrison FFA Teams Excel in Districts

Several North Harrison FFA teams excelled in districts recently.

The Forestry Team was first in districts and qualified for state. Lani Briggs was 1st, Jensen Davis 3rd, Jaxcynn Hansel 7th, and Kellan Craig 8th.

The Dairy Cattle Team was second in districts and qualified for state. Henry Frank was 1st and Cole Hartschen was 9th. Other team members were Baylor Hoffman and Lance Jacobs.

The Livestock Team was fourth and qualified for state. Hali Smith was 2nd. Other team members were Lani Briggs, Andrew Craig, and Jaxcynn Hansel.

The Meats team was fourth and qualified for state. Lela Hartschen was 3rd. Other team members were Dustin Hamilton, Bailee Barnhart, and Addison Milligan.

The Horses Team was fourth and qualified for state. Ryker Fortner was 4th. Other team members were Hali Smith, Wyatt Maize, and Devin Post.

The Agronomy Team was fourth and qualified for state. Members were Rylee Valenti, Alonna Milligan, Kyler Kimbrough, and Ethan Henson.

The Poultry Team was ninth and qualified for state. Team members were Jacoby Ballard, Creighton Graham, Mason Hicks, and Meric Hansel.

 

Six Shamrock FFA Teams Qualify for State

After spending the past couple days in Maryville for the NW District Agriculture CDE's, 24 North Harrison students competed in 9 different CDE areas for the opportunity to compete in Columbia at the State FFA Convention on April 23rd-25th.

Kenzie Milligan Installed as North Harrison FFA President

Kenzie Milligan was named new North Harrison FFA President Friday for the 2024-25 school year. Other officers were Carmon Fordyce (Vice-President), Lela Hartschen (Vice-President), Lani Briggs (Secretary), Kynsleigh Utley (Treasurer), Dustin Hamilton (Sentinel), Jaxcynn Hansel (Reporter), and Kyler Kimbrough (Chaplain). 

Officers for 2023-24 were Jaci Davis (President), Dillon Hartschen (Vice-President), Kenzie Milligan (President), Carmon Fordyce (Secretary), Lela Hartschen (Treasurer), Dustin Hamilton (Sentinel), Kynsleigh Utley (Reporter), and Andrew Craig (Parliamentarian & Chaplain).

Awarded FFA Chapter Degrees were Ethan Henson, Zane Hilburn, Kyler Kimbrough, Keygun Johnson, Brayden Nail, Morgan Nible, Natalie Parkhurst, Karsyn Ury, Aubrey Utley, Jerry Gilpatrick, Owan Roberson, and Kira Robertson.

Getting FFA Greenhand Degrees were Lani Briggs, Noah Guy, Jaxcynn Hansel, Wyatt Maize, Alonna Milligan, Tate Richardson, Rylee Valenti, and Wyatt Whitaker.

Getting State FFA Degrees were Jaci Davis, Jerry Gilpatrick, Dillon Hartschen, Keygun Johnson, and Karsyn Ury.

Getting National FFA Degrees were Cole Kampman, Kendall Kimbrough, and Trendi Johnson.

There were some scholarships handed out. Awarded the BTC Bank Scholarship was Rylee Valenti. The Wyant Family Scholarships went to Jaci Davis and Dillon Hartschen. The FFA Boosters Scholarship went to Karsyn Ury, Jaci Davis, Brayden Nail, and Dillon Hartschen. 

Among the people, businesses, and organizations given certificates of appreciation were Alex Irvin, Bill and Marie Wyant, the City of Eagleville, Verimore Bank, SOE Metals, Woods & Main, the North Harrison FFA Boosters, the North Harrison FCCLA, Principal Alan Koch, music teacher Ted Keck, Jamie Gates, Aaron Long, Lisa Gibson, Gayla Pottorff, Kara Smith, Lamoni Veterinary Clinic, and Nail Excavation.

Lani Briggs and Tate Richardson were recognized for competing in the area creed speaking contest. Two years ago, the FFA made a change allowing two students to say the creed as a team. They were given the Brittni Brenizer FFA Cree/Leadership Award.

Lela Hartschen was given the Star Chapter Farmer Award. Kenzie Milligan was given the Star Chapter Placement Award.

The Sam Skinner Memorial Award for Ag Leadership went to Jaci Davis and Alonna Milligan. The Chapter Leadership Award went to Lani Briggs, Wyatt Maize, Dustin Hamilton, Kyler Kimbrough, Kenzie Milligan, Carmon Fordyce, Jaci Davis, and Dillon Hartschen.

Various proficiency awards went to Morgan Nible, Audrey Utley, Andrew Craig, Dustin Hamilton, Lela Hartschen, Ethan Henson, Kyler Kimbrough, Kynsleigh Utley, Lani Briggs, Jaxcynn Hansel, Wyatt Maize, Alonna Milligan, Tate Richardson, Rylee Valenti, and Wyatt Whitaker.

The teams that competed in area FFA contests were recognized. The Etymology team consisted of Rylee Valenti, Alonna Milligan, Tate Richardson, and Wyatt Maize. They were 16th in Districts. Alonna Milligan was the high scorer.

The Poultry team consisted of Wyatt Whitaker, Natalie Parkhurst, and Kynsleigh Utley. They were 10th in Districts. Kynsleigh Utley was high scorer.

The Agronomy team consisted of Audrey Utley, Lela Hartschen, and Kynsleigh Utley. They qualified for state. Lela Hartschen was high scorer.

The Horses team consisted of Morgan Nible, Kyler Kimbrough, Dustin Hamilton, and Kenzie Milligan. They were 4th in Districts and 12th in State. Kenzie Milligan was high scorer.

The Livestock team consisted of Kyler Kimbrough, Owan Roberson, Jaci Davis, and Justin Hamilton. They were 6th in Districts and 44th in State. Jaci Davis was high scorer.

The Forestry team consisted of Karsyn Ury, Jerry Gilpatrick, Ethan Henson, and Andrew Craig. They were 3rd in Districts and were 28th in State. Jerry Gilpatrick was high scorer.

The Dairy Foods team was one of the pleasant surprises this year. Advisor Brandon Craig said that they had fielded one only three times since he had been at North Harrison, but that a group of kids wanted to try it. They were Jaxcynn Hansel, Kira Robertson, Lani Briggs, and Carmon Fordyce. They had never done it before, but they turned out to be really good at it and spent hundreds of dollars on food that they could practice judging. They were 3rd at Carrolton, 12th at Savannah, 4th at Districts, and 6th at State. Jaxcynn Hansel was high scorer. 

The Meats team consisted of Brayden Nail, Kenzie Milligan, and Dillon Hartschen. They were first at Districts and 18th at State.

Out of 60 different schools competing at districts, including much bigger schools, North Harrison was the winner as well as one of the smallest schools present. The current class of seniors saw the North Harrison FFA win the District Sweepstakes three times out of four years.

Top fundraisers were recognized. They were Andrew Craig, Wyatt Maize, Jaci Davis, and Kenzie Milligan. Top ticket sellers for the FFA Work Auction in October were Jaxcynn Hansel, Audrey Utley, Dustin Hamilton, Wyatt Maize, and Andrew Craig.

Ethan Henson and Dustin Hamilton were recognized for being part of the Missouri Farm Bureau Leadership Conference.

Dillon Hartschen was recognized for getting chosen to the National FFA Band last fall.

Getting their State FFA Degrees were Cole Kampman, Kendall Kimbrough, Trendi Johnson, and Halle Morgan.

Hugh Ross of BTC Bank awarded the BTC Bank Scholarship to Kenzie Milligan.

Inducted into the North Harrison FFA as Honorary Members were J.W. Brandt, Billy Briggs, and Marissa Irvin.

The Wyant Family Scholarship went to Cole Kampman. 

The FFA Creed was recited by Lela Hartschen.

The Harry Sheets Annual Leadership Award went to Ethan Henson, Andrew Craig, Stella Rinehart, Dustin Hamilton, Kyler Kimbrough, and Kynsleigh Utley.

The Chapter Scholarship Award went to Lela Hartschen, Kira Robertson, Keygun Johnson, and Trendi Johnson.

Teams were recognized who had participated in area FFA competitions. The Knowledge team consisted of Lela Hartschen, Kyler Kimbrough, Dustin Hamilton, and Stella Rinehart. Lela Hartschen was high individual.

The Nursery Landscape team consisted of Lily Owens, Luke Washburn, and Zane Hilburn. They were 15th in districts. Owens was the high individual.

The Meats team consisted of Dillon Hartschen, Brayden Nail, Tyson Gibson, and Noah Breshears. They had to identify 40 different cuts of means and complete a written test. They were 9th, 4th, 4th, and 4th in regular season competitions and 22nd in districts. Hartschen was the high individual.

The Agronomy team consisted of Keygun Johnson, Karsyn Ury, Owan Roberson, and Jerry Gilpatrick. They had to memorize 99 different seeds and they plants they would turn into. They were 11th in districts and 59th at state. Johnson was the high individual.

The Horses team consisted of Halle Morgan, Jaci Davis, Kira Robertson, and Carmon Fordyce. They finished third and fourth during regular season, 7th in districts, and 49th at state. Halle Morgan was the high individual.

The Livestock team consisted of Kenzie Milligan, Erica Gerken, Trendi Johnson, and Morgan Nible. They were 5th in districts, with Milligan fifth overall and Trendi 18th overall. They were 38th at state. Trendi Johnson was the high individual with a Group I rating at state.

The Poultry team consisted of Ethan Henson, Dustin Hamilton, Andrew Craig, and Kinsley Utley. They started off 15th in their first contest, which was embarrassing for them as everyone knew that advisor Brandon Craig gets just as worked up over FFA competitions as he does softball games. But they improved over the course of the year, finishing 10th, 5th, and 2nd. They were 7th in Districts and 38th in State. Andrew Craig was the high individual.

The Forestry team consisted of Trendi Johnson, Jaci Davis, Cole Kampman, and Kendall Kimbrough. They enjoyed competing among themselves and against Gallatin, with whom they were neck and neck all year for first. They were 1st or 2nd all year and took 2nd at districts. Trendi Johnson was 3rd overall, Jaci Davis 5th, Kendall Kimbrough 8th, and Cole Kampman 10th at districts. They were 21st at state. Trendi Johnson was the high individual.

The Dairy Cattle team consisted of three freshmen and one sophomore. Members were Kenzie Milligan, Kyler Kimbrough, Lela Hartschen, and Stella Rinehart. They surpassed everyone’s wildest expectations, going 2nd in their first contest, then winning their next two. At districts, Kenzie Milligan was 3rd, Kyler Kimbrough 5th, and Lela Hartschen 9th as they won districts. They were sixth in state. Lela Hartschen was 24th, Kyler Kimbrough 30th, and Kenzie Milligan 53rd at state. Milligan was high individual.

North Harrison FFA Competes in First Ag Contests

 Our first AG contest of the spring CDE season took us to Brunswick and Carrollton on March 4th. Yesterday, March 14th we competed in the Lathrop CDE's.  The team results as well as  top 10 individuals are listed below.  We will compete Thursday, March 17th in Trenton at the NCMC Ag Club CDE's, and again on Monday, March 21st at Savannah for their CDE contests before District CDE's in Maryville on April 5th and 6th.  

Kolton Graham will compete, Wednesday, March 16th in the Area 2 Creed Finals at Gallatin.  If he advances, he will compete at the NW District LDE's on March 23rd in Cameron.  The FFA Knowledge team will also compete in Cameron that evening as well.

The kids are working hard in their preparations for respective CDE and LDE areas. We are looking forward to the next two practice contests, as well as districts which will be upon us soon!

North Harrison FFA Starts Off Strong at Area Contests

On March 6th, North Harrison students went to Brunswick Judging Day, where they posted the following results:
Agronomy – 3rd place overall. Individual standings: Kami Gibson 11th, Kadyn Hukill 12th, Ashlynn Gilpatrick 16th, Cooper Cracraft 37th out of 101.
Forestry – 2nd place overall. Individual standings: Steven Willhite 10th, Kason Mathes 11th, Nick Babinski 16th, Brandon Hamilton 20th  out of 87.
Horses – 8th place overall. Rainey Fordyce 5th overall.
Livestock – 1st place overall. Trendi Johnson 1st, Carly Rinehart 5th, Lola Breshears 9th, Grant Claycomb 12th, Emma Craig 38th out of 138.
Meats – 4th place overall. Nicholas Mickelson 9th, Kylie Pottorff 11th, Brett Emig 21st of 134.
Other FFA members went to the Carrollton Area Career Center Contest held that same day. The following results were posted:

Poultry – 1st overall. Noah Breshears 1st, Kamden Robertson 2nd, Tyson Gibson 11th, Kendall Kimbrough 12th, Cole Kampman 19th of 86.
On March 7th, students continued their competitions in Columbia. At the Columbia FFA MoASK contest, the Dairy Cattle team finished first. Individually, Trendi Johnson was 3rd overall, Karley Koch 4th, Halle Morgan 9th, Shae Keefer 14th, and Curtis Guy 26th out of 64.
The Food Science team finished 10th overall. Kylie Pottorff was 11th individually.
The Mizzou Livestock Judging and Grading Contest was held the same day. North Harrison was 5th overall in the Senior division. Individually, Lola Breshears was 6th, Carly Rinehart 13th, Emma Craig 20th, and Grant Claycomb 22nd out of 71.

Lola Breshears Named North Harrison FFA President; Successful Year Celebrated

Lola Breshears was named North Harrison FFA President for the 2019-2020 school year, replacing Mardee Sadowsky, who will graduate. Other officers for next year will be Brett Emig (Vice-President), Emma Craig (Vice-President), Rainey Fordyce (Secretary), Nick Mickelson (Treasurer), Ashlynn Gilpatrick (Sentinel), Carly Rinehart (Reporter), Kami Gibson (Reporter), Nick Babinski (Parliamentarian), and Kamden Robertson (Chaplain).

Various FFA members were recognized for accomplishments over the years. Getting American FFA Degrees were Kiley Gibson, Clay Parkhurst, and Carly Brenizer. Getting their State FFA Degrees were Logan Craig, Gavin Garrett, Logan Huitt, Lane Huitt, and Mardee Sadowsky.

Getting their FFA Chapter Degrees were Collin Briggs, Grant Claycomb, Logan Craig, Kami Gibson, Ashlynn Gilpatrick, Kadyn Hukill, Lane Huitt, Logan Huitt, Emma Jones, Kason Mathes, Hunter Parkhurst, Kylie Pottorff, Taylor Richards, Carly Rinehart, Cruz Ury, Steven Willhite, and Mason Cracraft. Lola Breshears and Brett Emig got their Star Chapter Degrees. Kylie Pottorff got her star Chapter Placement Award. Mardee Sadowsky got the Sam Skinner Memorial Ag Leadership Award.
Getting their Greenhand Degrees were Nick Babinski, Wade Briggs, Adrian Cracraft, Cooper Cracraft, Brandon Hamilton, Shae Keefer, and Kamden Robertson. Star Greenhand Awards went to Nick Babinski and Kamden Robertson. Robertson received the Area II Gold Rating for FFA Creed Speaking and was an alternate to Finals. He received the Brittni Brenizer FFA Creed/Leadership Award. He also got the BTC Bank Scholarship.

Receiving Chapter Scholarship Awards were Cooper Cracraft (Freshman), Lola Breshears (Sophomore), Ashlynn Gilpatrick (Junior), and Mardee Sadowsky (Senior).

Seven different FFA teams went to state this year, including some that surprised their advisor, Brandon Craig. The Forestry team consisted of Grant Claycomb, Kadyn Hukill, Taylor Richards, and Logan Huitt. They were fourth in districts, with Logan Huitt fourth and Grant Claycomb 7th overall. They were 24th at State.

The Horses team consisted of Kami Gibson, Lola Breshears, Carly Rinehart, and Emma Craig. They were 2nd at Districts, with Lola Breshears 3rd and Emma Craig 7th overall. They were 25th at State, with Lola Breshears getting a Gold rating.

The Livestock team consisted of Wade Briggs, Kamden Robertson, Ashlynn Gilpatrick, and Lane Huitt. They were fourth in Districts, with Lane Huitt taking 5th overall. They were 24th at State, with Lane Huitt getting a Gold rating.

The Poultry team consisted of Brandon Hamilton, Cooper Cracraft, Adrian Cracraft, and Nick Babinski. Despite being an all-freshman team, they got better every single time and got 7th in Districts, with Nick Babinski 10th overall. They were 30th at State, but only three teams from their district were ahead of them.

The Meats team consisted of Steven Wilhite, Lane Huitt, Ashlynn Gilpatrick, and Mardee Sadowsky. They were fourth or fifth all year and finally beat out Princeton, finishing second in Districts only behind Trenton. They were 21st at State.

The Agronomy team consisted of Logan Craig, Gavin Garrett, Addie Slaughter, and Olivia Babinski. They were 2nd in Districts with Gavin Garrett first overall. They thought they had won, only for it to be reposted with them in second. They used that as motivation, and took 15th in State and got a Group I rating as a team. It was North Harrison’s first-ever such rating as a team. Gavin Garrett got a Gold rating individually.

The Dairy Cattle team was another team that surprised some people. This was one of the youngest teams that North Harrison fielded, with two freshmen and two sophomores. Members were Kason Mathes, Nick Mickleson, Rainey Fordyce, and Brett Emig. This was one of the best-performing FFA teams ever to come out of North Harrison. They were second in Districts, with Brett Emig 9th overall. They then took 5th at State with a Group I rating. Brett Emig was 7th overall at State with a Group I rating. Nick Mickleson was 28th with a Group I rating, Rainey Fordyce also received a Group I rating, while Kason Mathes narrowly missed out on a Group I rating.

Cruz Ury, Emma Craig, Lola Breshears, and Logan Huitt were recognized for being the top four sellers for the BBQ. Emma Craig, Rainey Fordyce, and Carly Rinehart were recognized for being awarded with a Farm Bureau trip to Jefferson City.

There were 33 FFA members for North Harrison, of which there were 31 who were present for Friday’s banquet. Out of all the area FFA chapters with one Ag teacher, North Harrison won first overall in the District Sweepstakes over schools like Chillicothe, Trenton, Princeton, Braymer, and Hamilton. It was their first-ever such award, although they had always come close in recent years, finishing in the top three, including six times in the second slot. Including all FFA chapters with multiple teachers, North Harrison was third overall, with only Savannah and Cameron ahead of them.
The FFA had help from a lot of individuals in the community, which went above and beyond the call of duty to help them. The chapter recognized the family of Dennis Puppe, which helped cover the expenses for many FFA activities. Honorary memberships went to Chase Stoll, Danny Lisle, and Tabrey Kimbrough, who all went above and beyond the call of duty to help. Another special award was given to Mr. Lighthill, the bus driver, who drove them to their events this year.

Eight different seniors were recognized with the jacket ceremony, in which they retire their jackets for good. They were Logan Craig, Mardee Sadowsky, Olivia Babinski, Mason Cracraft, Logan Huitt, Lane Huitt, Gavin Garrett, and Addie Slaughter. Advisor Brandon Craig choked up even more than he did last year when the softball team took third in state when he talked about them. “These guys gave it there all these past four years,” he said. “It was fun to see them transform over many late nights, road trips, and contests.”

Two North Harrison FFA Teams Receive “I” Ratings at State

As another contest season comes has come to a close with the completion of the 90th Missouri State FFA Convention, we are very proud once again of the hard work, effort, and accomplishments of many of our teams and individuals as they excelled in their respective areas of state contest.  The time and dedication these students but in to their teams was reflected, as they not only represented themselves, but their school and chapter in outstanding fashion. 

Two teams earned the coveted "Group I" rating, recognizing the approximate top 20% of the teams in that respective contest area.  Those teams were Dairy Cattle  (Lola Breshears, Hunter Stevens, Carly Rinehart, and Emma Craig) who finished in 9th place out of 60 teams, and Livestock (Brett Emig, Logan Huitt, Nick Mickelson, and Rainey Fordyce) who finished 10th out of 59 teams.  Lola Breshears led the way for the Dairy team, placing as the 6th overall individual in the contest and an individual Group I rating.  Hunter Stevens was the 46th overall individual, also garnering Group I honors. 

Brett Emig finished as the 23rd overall individual in Livestock, as Logan Huitt and Nick Mickelson finished in the 43rd and 53rd positions, respectively earning individual Group I ratings as well.  Rainey Fordyce finished 64th, just missing a Group I, finishing at the very top of the Group II ratings.
The Horse Judging team of (Mardee Sadowsky, Lane Huitt, Ashlynn Gilpatrick, and Kylie Pottorff) finished just out of the Group I rated teams, finishing 13th and the first Group II rated team.  Mardee and Lane finished as the 17th and 26th ranked individuals, earning individual Group I ratings. 

The Forestry team of (Vici Stellpflug, Logan Craig, Payton Craig, and Bobby Hutton) had a solid showing at state as well, finishing 18th overall with a high Group II team rating.  Each of the team members finished with individual Group II ratings as well. 

The Meats team of (Gavin Garrett, Olivia Babinski, Addie and Kenna Slaughter) finished in 28th place out of 48 teams, and a solid Group II team rating.

The Poultry team of (Kami Gibson, Cruz Ury, Hunter Parkhurst, and Grant Claycomb) placed 29th out of 48 teams overall with a Group II rating.

The Agronomy team of (Steven Willhite, Mason Cracraft, Kason Mathes, and Ryan Jones) finished in 43rd place out of 57 teams, earning a Group II rating as well.

On the FFA LDE side, Mardee Sadowsky competed in the area of Advanced Prepared Public Speaking, where she finished with a gold rating and a Top 16 finish. 

Finally, two of our senior members in Bobby Hutton and Payton Craig, were each awarded the Missouri State FFA Degree during the final convention session, to cap off and eventful and successful couple of days.  Congrats to ALL of these hard working FFA members.  You continue to make us all proud!! 

The North Harrison FFA Banquet will be held on Friday, May 4th, at 6:00 pm in the HS gym, to recognize both the students for their accomplishments throughout the year, as well as those supporters, parents and businesses who support us in all of our activities.  All supporters are invited to attend.

38 Shamrocks Participate in Savannah FFA Contests

Monday, March 19th, the North Harrison AG kids competed in the Savannah AG Contests. 38 students, or over half the high school at North Harrison, participated in the day’s events, with many of the participants finishing near the top of their contest areas.

Forestry: 1st out of 22 teams (Logan Craig, Payton Craig, Bobby Hutton, Brandy Rivet, and Vici Stellpflug)

North Harrison FFA Forestry Team First at Lathrop

As spring break started on Monday morning, March 12th, the North Harrison Ag kids were on their way to Lathrop to compete in the 20th Annual Lathrop Judging Day, which is normally the largest contest we attend all year.  This year was no different, as 1700 students gathered to compete in various agriculture CDE events.

The hard work these kids have been putting in recently was rewarded with outstanding results. We sent 6 full teams to this contest, (Forestry, Dairy Cattle, Poultry, Meats, Horses, and Livestock) and 3 other teams that were competing with only two individuals (Agronomy, Floriculture, and Entomology)

Results of Area II FFA Contest:
Wednesday evening, Mardee Sadowsky and Emma Craig traveled to Gallatin to compete in the Area II FFA LDE Contest.  Mardee Sadowsky competed in the area of Advanced Prepared Public Speaking and finished in 3rd Place with a Gold rating, advancing on to districts on March 27th, where 6 total speakers, 3 from Area I, and 3 from Area 2 will compete for the opportunity to qualify for state.  The top 2 speakers will move on to compete at the State FFA Convention in Columbia in April.
Emma Craig finished 5th overall and a Gold rating, in the FFA Creed, alternate to districts. 

North Harrison FFA Livestock Team Second at Hamilton

The North Harrison Livestock team finished second overall at Hamilton, with a total of 1360 points. Lane Huitt was third individually, while Brett Emig was ninth. 

In other highlights from the North Harrison FFA:
–Emma Craig advanced through preliminary rounds of the FFA Creed competition and finished in the final 8. She will compete in Gallatin.

–Mardee Sadowsky was named as Area II FFA 2nd Vice-President during officer interviews last Wednesday evening in Cameron. She was selected from 16 applicants, who were running for 10 offices. Rainey Fordyce and Lola Breshears were voting delegates that evening, sat in on the officer interviews, and were able to vote. Payton Craig, the 2017-2018 Area II 2nd Vice President, assisted with the evening in various capacities.
