William “Lee” Campbell, 55, of Hopkins, MO passed away peacefully at Nodaway Nursing Home surrounded by family on Monday, July 27, 2026. Lee battled lengthy illnesses of diabetes, lung and heart disease, and renal failure.
Lee was born at Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa on October 28, 1970, to Albert Lee and Donna M. (Wake) Campbell, who preceded him in death.
Lee attended school at Johnston Community School District in Johnston, Iowa where he was very competitive in sports. He lived in Des Moines, Iowa most of his life and moved to Hopkins, Missouri in 2012.
Lee was an avid reader and his favorite authors were John Grisham and Steven King. He loved listening to heavy metal music and watching Sci-Fi and crime movies. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys and anything related to Star Wars.
Lee is survived by two aunts, Betty Wake (of the home) and Ruth Wake, Pickering, MO, as well as numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents Donald and Thelma Wake of Pickering, MO and many aunts and uncles.
Graveside Services were held at 1 pm, Friday, July 31st at White Oak Cemetery under the care of Price Funeral Home. The family gathered with friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
